We caught up with @totally_notemma559 a sophomore from @maderasouthgirlswrestling at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw at Clovis West High School. Emma has been wrestling for 10+ years, and this summer she’s been putting in the work — competing in out-of-town and local tournaments, hitting the gym, and pushing herself every day. 💪 One thing she’s especially excited about? The growth of girls wrestling. She loves seeing more girls step onto the mat, challenge themselves, and continue taking the sport to another level. 👊🔥 But what really stood out was Emma’s mindset. Wrestling has taught her to keep her head up through adversity and keep moving forward. She admits the nerves can hit before a match — sometimes even feeling nauseous — but once she steps on the mat, she finds a way to overcome it. And her message to the next generation says it all: “You can beat anyone, no matter who they are.” Emma, thank you for sharing your story, your heart, and your passion for wrestling with us. I had the opportunity to interview @lorelai626_rory14 at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp at Clovis West High School, hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw. Abby found the camp through Instagram and came ready to learn. As a junior in high school, she said being around this level of wrestling and learning from Olympians was motivating her to push herself to a higher standard. The camp gave her an opportunity to have fun, learn new technique, and challenge herself alongside other wrestlers who are chasing their own goals. But Abby’s journey hasn’t come without adversity. She’s been battling a back injury since her freshman year, yet she continues to push forward. Her goal for her junior season is simple: make Masters and, most importantly, stay healthy. Her message to the younger generation really stood out: Keep going. Take wrestling seriously. Take yourself seriously. And surround yourself with people who are willing to work just as hard as you are. That’s bigger than wrestling. That’s a lesson for life. Abby, keep fighting, keep believing, and keep putting the work in. Your adversity doesn’t define you—it’s helping build the person and athlete you’re becoming. Keep pushing toward that next level. We caught up with @johnson_pdx_ at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw at Clovis West High School.
Katie traveled all the way from Oregon and is heading into her junior year. She started wrestling as a freshman, originally looking at it as a winter sport—but somewhere along the way, wrestling became her passion. What stood out most was what Katie said she loves about wrestling: the community, the family, and the support. ❤️ She’s also faced her share of adversity, from tough opponents to the mental challenges that come with competing. But those challenges are helping her grow—not just as a wrestler, but as a person. And Katie is a true multi-sport athlete, competing in cross country, track, cheer, and flag football. 💪 Her message to the younger generation is simple but powerful: Have fun. Don’t take everything too seriously. And remember—confidence is key. Katie, keep trusting the process, keep surrounding yourself with people who lift you up, and keep enjoying the journey. The wins and losses will come, but the person you become along the way is what matters most.

We caught up with sophomore Leilana Moultrie out of Clovis West High School at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp, hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw Leilana opened up about the challenges and growth that came with stepping into a Division 1 program as a freshman, after more than six years on the mat. She also reflected on her journey of balancing wrestling with softball and other sports before fully committing to wrestling during her freshman year.
Now heading into her sophomore season, she’s locked in on one goal: push harder and be better than she was last year. One thing that really stood out was what this camp means to her. Growing up with limited wrestling partners, she’s grateful to now see the sport expanding and to have access to higher-level training and competition opportunities. And her message to the next generation says it all: “Don’t let what others have to say affect you. Keep pushing and be yourself.” That’s what it’s all about for us—highlighting not just the competition, but the journey, the mindset, and the person behind the wrestler.

Adelina has been wrestling for 4–5 years and is getting ready to enter junior high. For young wrestlers like Adelina, having the opportunity to learn from Olympians and high-level wrestlers is something truly special. She understands that these experiences can play a huge role in development and growth on and off the mat. Her message to the next generation, Believe in yourself. Set goals. Learn new moves. We caught up with @oliviafaust5, a rising junior @buchanan_girls_wrestling and a two-time state placer, at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw at Clovis West High School. Coming off a team state championship, Olivia knows the standard is high — but her mindset is simple: keep it up. 💪 This summer, she’s putting in the work — attending big-time camps, lifting, getting her cardio in, and preparing herself for another big season. We also talked about the incredible growth of women’s wrestling. When Olivia first started, she was often the only girl, or one of just a couple, in the room. Now? Female wrestlers are filling the rooms. 🔥 Having Olympians and high-level camps come to the Valley is creating opportunities for the next generation, and Olivia is thankful to the coaches who continue bringing these experiences to our athletes. 🔥 FROM TENNESSEE TO THE CENTRAL VALLEY! 🤼‍♀️
Meet @janiya_johnson13, a 2-time Fargo Champion and 2-time Who’s Number One champion, who traveled from Tennessee to train at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw at Clovis West High School! She found the camp through Instagram, and after some convincing from her mom and coach, she took the leap. What makes this story even more special is the Faust family opening their home to Janiya and helping make this experience possible. ❤️
Now entering her senior season, Janiya isn’t taking a moment for granted. She wants to enjoy every practice, every tournament, and every opportunity. Her message to the next generation is simple: Have fun. Enjoy the journey. Focus on the small details. Master the basics. 🌟 The Next Generation! 🤼‍♀️🔥 We had the opportunity to interview 7-year-old @doiwrestling at the Sizzlin’ Summer Olympic Edge Camp hosted by @cleophaslane & @c.laneacademyw. This was Jaydes FIRST interview ever, and she already has BIG dreams! 💪 She told us her favorite part of wrestling is getting to compete around the world, and she’s already learning single legs, leg laces, treetops and more. With her aunts Regina and Marina Doi and her dad all having deep roots in wrestling, Jayde is carrying on a special family legacy. ❤️ And when we asked what she wants to be when she grows up?
