Join us on Thursday Feb 26 at @qncc.bk for a forum where we will come together to discuss how we can create a nighttime economy rooted in worker solidarity. This forum invites the public to learn from participants of our “Intro to Co-ops for the Nightlife Industry” course, who will share their learnings and introduce the concept of solidarity economies to a wider audience of partygoers. During the forum, facilitators will offer a brief introduction to the cooperative business model and engage attendees in a conversation on the problems plaguing the nightlife industry, in order to highlight the ways in which the model can offer solutions. Attendees will then be invited to envision the types of nightlife spaces they’d like to see and form learning groups to explore cooperative projects outside of the forum. Honcho Campout, you are and will always be a fever dream. I’m beyond grateful to have returned for another year of queer joy and community in these woods, meeting fab people, turning cute looks, and dancing my little ass off. A snapshot of my first month remote working abroad. (I refuse to call myself a digital nomad!)

New York -> Los Angeles -> Bangkok -> Koh Phangan

Highlights include: catching up with good friends in LA, motorbike taxis in Bangkok, cheap and delicious vegan food literally everywhere in Thailand, Koh Phangan’s sunset vistas, making dumplings with new friends from Russia, travel romance

Downsides include: working 12 hours ahead of east coast time, mosquitoes in my bedroom, occasional feelings of what the fuck am I doing on the other side of the world lol

I’ve had - and still have - lofty expectations for my travels this year, but my first month has reminded me that it’s foolish to believe they will ever be met in the way I hope. Solo traveling will always deliver highs and lows and far too much is out of your control to curate any particular outcome. Instead I can control for what I can to keep myself safe, comfortable, and busy, and just know that the best parts of the journey will be the ones I can’t plan for.

To more months of cheeky stories, shameless thirst traps, and lots of uncertainty!

Baby’s first foray into film photography 🥲 Captured some special moments of the last quarter of the year with some special people, and seeing as it’s NYE, it feels like a good opportunity to reflect on the outgoing year:

2024 has been a lesson in dualities. A tumultuous ride that introduced me to new highs and new lows, different visions for the life I want to lead, pathways laid before me to choose from. At times I felt invincible, at times I felt my mortality deeply. In trekking through these peaks and valleys I’ve picked up more pieces of myself, deepening my understanding of who I am, what brings me fulfillment, and what’s best left behind. I’m entering 2025 with no enlightenment or existential answers, but with more kindness to myself and this body of mine, more gratitude for my circumstances and the people in my life, and some audacious plans for the year ahead that will likely bring further growth, and at the very least will keep things interesting.
