I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give children is the chance to fall in love with the natural world. To notice the birds. Pick up the feathers. Turn over the rocks. Ask questions. Get muddy. And then carry that curiosity into their play.Because how can we expect the next generation to protect something they've never had the chance to know and love?It doesn't have to be a grand adventure. Be honest... you wanted to do it too. 🌈😂There's something about seeing everything perfectly sorted into its place that makes the grown-up in us think, don't you dare tip that out...But the little kid in us?Absolutely wants to tip it out.Maybe that's one of the best things about watching children play. They don't always stop to think about how things should be done. M O O N D A YIts international moon day!!Did you know its been 50 years since we first sent astronauts to the moon?! Some days, everyone just needs a reset.The big emotions are getting bigger. Nothing seems to be working. And you can feel the whole day starting to unravel.This was one of those days.So they grabbed a favourite story, threw together some sensory play, headed outside and got a little bit silly. 💩😂And it made a difference.Not because it was an elaborate activity. Not because everything suddenly became perfect. But because sometimes a change of scenery, some sensory play and a good laugh are exactly what little bodies — and their grown-ups — need.That's one of the things I love most about play.
