I was reluctant to post the incomplete draft of bygone year. Contemplated on moments captured in pictures to memories via life manifestations and moments clocking to end. The urge of putting a story and completing pending tasks led to this :)
The forests of Madhya Pradesh fantasized me from long back. Though I reached first time The Shyamala Hills trek was instant reunion with childhood memories of jungle walks with Papa. It felt home. The energy of the environs was such that we didn't feel tired even after walking at least about 8 or 10 kms (given the cavemen category we are ;)
This trip assured me of having a go to travel partner anytime, yep small sis @priyanshachauhan24. Once we had a fight and no talking for days. It scared me of losing a valuable travel partner I can't afford ;)

Circa Oct 2017, one of my cutest casual sketches. I don't remember what exactly inspired me then to draw this. Though it somehow gives the idea of a Balsadhak meditating passionately. Tripunda signifies he is a devotee of Shiv. His long tresses gives the idea that he is sitting from quite a long time. His mandasmit (slightly smiling) face absorbed in divine trance, a state of samadhi shows he is satisfactorily composed in his beloved purpose of dissolving his senses in Adidev.

It was a rough one time sketch. I couldn't draw well either the sukhasana pose or the hand mudras still this sketch captured my thoughts aptly.

Overwhelmed by the intoxicating rendition of the legend, Pandit Jasraj ji, l had to post a pic with the beautiful devotional melody introduced to me by @piyushkukrety ji. This pic suited the moment of exhilaration 😇

आमड़ा का अचार 😀

केवल अचार नहीं है, शंका से आत्म विश्वास तक के यात्रा की दृश्य कथा है 🙂 आमड़े के पेड़ के पास से गुज़रते हुए शाम को विचार आया था कि इसका तो अचार बनता है फिर हुआ कि मैं तो अचार खाती भी नहीं। शंका अलग, 'मुझसे बनेगा भी' और अम्मा की मान्यता, 'तुमसे नहीं होगा'। आत्मसमर्पण किए कमरे पर पहुंचे तो बहन जी का स्नेहिल अनुरोध मिला, 'आमड़े का अचार बनाइए न'। बस फिर क्या था मिल गया बहाना अपने शंका को परखने का । उसी बीच गांव जाना पड़ा। फिर लगा राम भरोसे ही है । और राम जी ने बचा ली लाज मेरी । चटोरी बहनों को चखाया। उनकी चटख प्रतिक्रियाओं ने अंततः आश्वस्त किया कि हमारा बनाया अचार सफल हुआ 😁 Needless to say that Amma is in great disbelief 😆

धरोहर‌🌿

कुछ छवियां बटोर लीं, पैतृक गांव के तालाबों की, बयार की, बूढ़ी माताओं की, बड़े बरगद की, कुम्हार चाचा की, उनसे खरीदी मेटी की, ननिहाल के बंद पड़ी रसोई की और वृहद पीपल की। ये सब भौतिक रूप से, संस्कार में, बोली भाषा में कितना संभाल पाऊंगी मुझे इसका कोई अंदाज़ा नहीं पर यह मेरी जड़ें हैं इसका भान कुछ गहरा अनुभव कराता है कि इसी मिट्टी, नहर, तालाबों के बीच मेरे माता-पिता बड़े हुए। वहां के लोग अब भी स्नेह से उन्हें याद करते हैं। बहुत कुछ तो छवियां भी समेट नहीं पातीं। मैं यहां बिदेसिया जैसा अनुभव कर रही थी। किंतु जड़ों का और जिज्ञासा का खिंचाव प्रबल था ।

Upanayan sanskar aka Janeu sanskar 🌿

The age old ritual to initiate a child into spiritual discipline (earlier formal education) which involves wearing sacred yagyopavitam making him 'dwija', born second time.

Got the opportunity to document the special occasion of brothers @ashish_0825 and Akash

Melodious vocals : Mirzapuri folk song, janeu geet is sung by @royal_ruchi_ and her mother.
Interestingly l recorded it few years back unaware of the fact that I will witness it too at their place later.
