19 Years It’s Been- And Not A Day Goes By Where I Don’t Think- What Would Rog Do? You Were One Of A Kind- I Thank You 🙏🏻 For Your Empathy And Love For My 31 Years Of You Present And I Toast You Today Rog- Happy Father’s Day!!
Happy Father’s Day To All Of The Fathers- Most Especially To Those Real Men That Have Stepped In And Stepped Up For Me And My Children, Especially The Last Few Years- I Thank You 🙏🏻 And So Do My Mia and Carter. Most Especially On This Day- I Am So Grateful To Have A Partner That My Children Can Witness Loving Me In All The Right Ways And Being A Steadfast, Loving, Loyal, And Respecting Man To Women, And To Them.

Feeling these words most especially on this Mother’s Day!!

‘mother’s day used to feel like so much pressure to me. so much expectation around what it was supposed to look like.
perfect memories. perfect gratitude.
but motherhood is not perfect. it’s showing up tired.
showing up overstimulated. showing up anxious, stressed out, heartbroken, healing, overwhelmed while still working the daily juggling and just putting on that smile that you are not actually feeling to make everyone happy and comfortable.
calming the meltdowns, cheering from the sidelines, carrying the mental load no one else even sees.
it’s sleepless nights while still being someone’s safe place.
it’s breaking quietly in the bathroom & coming back out to tend too all of everything and everyone.
it’s sacrificing pieces of yourself while trying to find your way back to yourself too.
and somehow we still love this deeply.
we choose them every single day. mothers are the closest thing
To a superhuman I have ever seen. Not because everything is done perfectly but because we keep going while carrying so much no one else fully understands.
A mother’s day can hold a lot.
for the women missing their moms. the women trying to become moms. the moms carrying more than they let anyone see.
the single moms. the grieving moms.
the moms doing their best with what they have.
in case you needed the reminder: you are a great F%^*ing mom!! even on the days you doubt yourself. even on the days you lose your patience. even on the days you feel exhausted by the weight of it all. your love is shaping someone’s entire world.
and that matters more than perfection ever will.
how lucky are we.’
To my Mia Jane and my Carter James I am who I am because of you both- I fought so hard with you both by my side over these last few years and you carried me through in so many ways and I will continue to do anything and everything to keep you both safe and supported- I love you both with my entire being!! by @cliffcat17
