99 days. ⏰

That’s what’s left between now and December 31 — the day when everything that determines this year’s tax position gets decided. After that, you’re not planning anymore. You’re just reporting.

Which is exactly why asking yourself, “did we actually make money this season?” can’t wait until tax time. Tonight I’m walking through how to read your season honestly — not busy, not tired, actually profitable — so the decisions you’re making right now, inside this window, are grounded in what really happened.

We’ll get into how many people the farm can afford to carry next year, where labor sits in the budget, and the real cost-versus-return on organic certification, cost-share programs included. Bring last season’s rough numbers if you have them. You’ll leave with a written plan for next season, not just a feeling about it.

Tonight at 7PM on Zoom: Free and open to anyone — link in bio! 🔗 by @climbaccounting

Ran a session with NOFA-NY the other night on year-end planning for farms & small businesses. 🧑🏻‍🌾

Breaking down the highlights below!

📍 Most people don’t know this: if you’re a small business & you’re profitable, your tax bill is due January 15. Not April. One payment, and if you miss it you’re paying penalties and interest on money you didn’t know you owed.

📍 Which means you’ve got 99 days. December 31 is when just about everything that determines your tax position has to be decided. After that you’re not planning — you’re reporting.

📍 The 30-cent rule: spending a dollar to reduce your taxes saves you roughly thirty cents (30% Tax Rate).

📍 Don’t buy things just for the write-off. Buy what you need, then time it for the write-off. So a $60,000 purchase you didn’t need isn’t a tax strategy — it’s a $40,000 loss wearing a costume.

📍 Before you buy anything before year-end, run the test: Do I need it in the next 6 months? What’s my cash look like in Q1 after I pay for it? What’s the real discount — 30% of the price, not 100%?

Doing it all again Monday 9/28 at 7PM — it’s free and open to anyone! Bring a rough profit number and the one decision you’re weighing, and we’ll work through it together. Link in bio. 🔗 by @climbaccounting

Some farmers walk into tax season knowing exactly what they owe. Others find out in April. The difference gets decided in December. 🏔️

This Wednesday night, we’re teaming up with NOFA-NY for a live session: Before December 31 — Year-End Tax Moves for Farmers. Tahsin will walk you through the calls that actually change what you owe with real farm examples.

You’ll walk away knowing:

🏔️ Which purchases to make now vs. hold until January, and why the date matters more than the amount

🏔️ How to use prepaid supplies and income deferral to even out a big year or a lean one

🏔️ The bookkeeping cleanup that has to happen first, before any of these calls make sense

🏔️ The exact questions to bring to your accountant before the year closes

It’s free, it’s on Zoom, and you can join from wherever you’re at. Bring your own numbers, we’ll work through real ones live together.

99 days left to decide. Link in bio. 🌱

You are the biggest driver of your company’s growth. You are also its biggest bottleneck. 🏔️

There are three great levers in any business: good people, good tech, and good money. But here’s what most owners miss: these aren’t three separate checkboxes. They’re a flywheel.

Great people won’t stay without the right tools and pay. The best tech sits idle without talent and investment behind it. And the money never shows up without both. Each pillar feeds the other two. ⚙️

So, how do you get there? You start with the bottleneck — you. Stop being the person every decision runs through. Buy back your time with systems, delegate with intention, and put your energy where only you can drive value.

But how do you keep it as you scale? Reinvest deliberately. Every dollar of good money should strengthen your people or your tech, so the flywheel spins faster instead of falling apart under growth.

Wealth built this way isn’t just bigger. It means a sustainable and ethical business that runs on strong people, honest systems, and money that works for everyone in it.

“If you resent money, it will forever elude you.” 💭

That line hits hard. Growing up surrounded by wealth, while your family lived a very different reality, shapes you and your world perspective. That gap plants a quiet resentment toward money, and over time, maybe even toward the people who have it.

Then it grows. You look at the world’s biggest problems and start tracing every one of them back to money. Wealth becomes the villain in the story you’re telling yourself.

But here’s the shift in perspective: you’re not a martyr. 🏔️

Rejecting money doesn’t make you virtuous, and building it doesn’t make you complicit. There is a reality where you create wealth ethically, where your values and your bank account climb together.

Your mindset is the first investment. Make it a good one.

I deleted an entire afternoon from my month. Without hiring anyone.

For years, manual entries in Asana ate up my time. 45 clients. Six fields each. Every due date looked up one at a time. It was meticulous, and my energy needed to be going elsewhere.

So I stopped doing it manually.

I described the whole process to Claude once, the way I’d brief a new hire, with one rule: show me a preview before you change anything.

Now it takes 10 minutes. I review a table, I say “confirm,” and it’s done.

I’m an accountant, so my version of this was Asana. But you have one too:

📊 The report you rebuild every Monday
🧩 The spreadsheet you stitch together from three tabs
✉️ The onboarding email you rewrite for every new client
⏳ The invoices you keep chasing

If you do it by hand on a schedule, you can stop repeating it. You don’t need to be technical. You need to explain the task clearly and keep the final say.

Your time is your most leveraged asset. This is what protecting it actually looks like.

The question I keep coming back to: how much of “I need to hire someone” is really “I haven’t built the system yet”?

👇 Comment “SYSTEM” and I’ll send you the exact prompt. Steal it as a template.

We had an amazing time at the @jasononfirms event in NYC. The room was full of serious practitioners actually building their businesses with the latest tools — including Claude. 🙌

Three things that landed:

1️⃣ Implementation is a people problem. Tech doesn’t change anything if your team isn’t aligned on process. Everyone doing the work their own way? You can’t scale Claude to that.

2️⃣ Efficiency creates capacity, not discounts. When AI handles the repetitive work, you free up room for higher-value work. That’s where your margin lives — not in a race to the bottom.

3️⃣ Redesign your systems for AI to lead production, not just assist. This is the paradigm shift happening right now. Not “Claude helps us” — but “Claude owns this, humans review it.”

We got to shake hands with @hectorgarciacpa too — RightTool’s work has genuinely improved how we operate.

Biggest takeaway? This isn’t about finding one magical hire or software tool. It’s about carving out time to learn this stuff with your team. You don’t need to be a coding wizard. Just pick a thing, start using Claude on it, and get better as you go. 🚀

Simply put, accounting is the language of business.

In one of our past seminars at @eastendfood we broke down why understanding your financials isn’t just about staying organized. It’s about knowing where you’ve been, where you are right now, and moving forward with real confidence. 📈

Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been in the industry for years, one thing stays true: learning to leverage your business vehicles is one of the most direct paths to making more money.

This is the foundation. It all starts here.

Most businesses don’t have a resource problem — they have a leverage problem. 📈

In this video, we talk about one of the most overlooked growth concepts for business owners: learning how to properly leverage yourself within your own company.

As the owner, your time, energy, and decision-making capacity are some of the most valuable assets in the business. But too many entrepreneurs stay trapped in day-to-day operations, constantly reacting instead of building systems that allow the business to scale effectively.

Climb Accounting® has free resources that touch on:
• Why owners become bottlenecks without realizing it
• The difference between working in the business vs. on the business
• How delegation and structure create scalability
• Why sustainable growth requires operational leverage
• The importance of building a business that doesn’t rely on you for every function

Real growth happens when the business can operate more efficiently because of you — not only through you. 🚀 Check out the resource link in our bio!

You, as the business owner, are the biggest driver of your success. 🚀

Growth doesn’t just come from better tools, better markets, or better timing — it comes from better decisions, clearer strategy, and stronger execution at the top.

At Climb, we focus on helping business owners:
⛰️ Understand their numbers beyond surface-level metrics
⛰️ Build systems that support consistent growth
⛰️ Make proactive, not reactive, financial decisions
⛰️ Turn insight into action

Because when the owner levels up, the business follows.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, plateaued, or uncertain about your next move — this is your sign to zoom out, reassess, and take ownership of the path forward. 🔄
