Thor's Hammer (9a) ✔️

What a route! It has everything: bouldery moves on crimps and pinches, slopers, kneebars, and at around 60 meters long, it’s a true endurance monster. I’m super happy to have sent it during this year’s Flatanger trip.
The first time I made it through the first crux, I climbed all the way to ‘Nordic Plumber’ (Nordic Plumber (8c) and Thor's Hammer share the same exit) and got pumped out before even reaching the final sloper rail… on jugs… Didn’t know that one can’t hold on to jugs anymore 😅. I needed a few more attempts to make it through the crux again, but this time I fought all the way to the top!

Dreamtime ✅

Treschivan (8A)
Totally forgot about this boulder. I climbed the others on this bloc over 10 years ago and never returned until @benj_weber climbed it and suggested I give it a try. Quite unique to have these kinds of moves on rock 😜

Stuck the dyno on „Three Degrees of Separation“ (~9a+) in isolation. Felt unreal and huge! Can’t yet imagine being fresh enough to send it from the ground. Something to dream about until next year…

‚Adularia‘ (8C) and ‚Stairway to Heaven sit‘ (8B+)

Productive day at Gottardo last Sunday. Had to keep up with @david_firnenburg insane sending day! Also got some promising tries in ‚Child of Hell‘, which has to wait for another weekend :)

Curve Ball (~8C)

One of the last ones from the Ticino season that went down a couple of weeks ago. Stoked about this one! I had to pull out my toe hook skills for this super technical problem. Props to @giuliano_cameroni and @dave_graham_ for establishing this amazing line!
Gradewise I can’t really tell the difference between 8C and 8C+, especially when the boulder is friction dependent and super technical. The boulder went down a bit to fast compared to the other boulders I climbed in Bavona that season, which is why I‘m leaning towards the lower grade for now. But time will tell.

Power of Now Direct (8C)
Such a good one! Big, powerful, almost comp style moves, but outdoors :P The first move into “Power of Now” added quite a lot for me. If I didn’t hit the left crimp right, the whole launch for the jump felt off. Plus, the fatigue built up for the last move, where I fell a couple of times.
Luckily, it all came together with flow last weekend, making it one of the coolest and proudest boulders I’ve climbed!
