No “Teagarden Roof” 7C ❌
I tried so hard, and got so far
But in the end… two sessions were not enough to send this beauty 😌

“Stalker on the Horizon” 7C 🥳
A little story of how this one came together:
During my first session, I couldn’t commit to the tiny right hand crimp in the crux, because I felt some on-and-off pain in my right middle and ring finger pulleys, since I climbed “Jack the chipper”. I managed to do all the other moves though, and that got me super excited!
In my second session, I finally did the crux, after @nilsfavre suggested toe-camming my right heel. As so often, his little tip turned out to be the key for me 😅
By session three, I came back mostly wanting to make the moves as efficient as possible (this boulder is so long and I’m still not an endurance girlie 😂), and I almost even sent!
Then came the final session: high expectations, horrible period cramps, icy wind strong enough to send our pads flying, and suddenly even the easy moves felt hard. I cut my index finger on the first try… and then fell AGAIN on the very last move 😭
I was so close to giving up, but then the sun came out, body and mood finally warmed up, and somehow I managed to send it. A little messy, but I’ll take it 🥹

Such an intense experience! 10 days left in paradise and I’m SO excited for what’s still to come 🧡

“Golden Rail” — one of the most beautiful 6Cs in Rocklands? 😍
Staying true to my holiday tradition, I obviously had to get sick first 🥲 This one was the perfect boulder to get back into climbing after a few days off!

Only 3 more days until Rocklands!! 😮🇿🇦
My tick list is long, and I honestly can’t wait to be back among those beautiful boulders and landscapes. Ever since last winter, I’ve been getting sick for a few days almost every month, which meant I couldn’t stick to my training plan as consistently as I’d hoped. I was really looking forward to months of uninterrupted hard training, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Still, I trained as hard as my body allowed — and now I’m so excited to see how much I’ve progressed since my last trip two years ago 🧡
