October is drawing near
and so is the 27th day of that month and one of the roughest times in my mind
I wish I could freeze the time
But also pray it passes by

I still can’t believe
That I’m still in grief
And disbelief of the tragedy

I’m trying heal but I fall so short
I want to press abort
This doesn’t seem like the norm
I’m supposed to be happy through the storm

Sure I can laugh and go about
But things stir inside that make me shout
And this is the only way I know to let it out
I need benefit of the doubt

That this whole thing is like a nightmare
And I’m aware of the self despair
And I can’t control the over share
When it sits on my heart to just go nowhere

I miss what I never had the chance to receive
And I still chose to believe
That someday you would be here for me
And it all was just wind through the trees

I love you I do but I’m healing from you
The version of you that I didn’t choose
The version of me that I still let get bruised

Fun fact, @sambalosangeles and I were supposed to perform together at the Opening Ceremony for the Long Beach Pride festival. Since the festival was canceled, I had the honor of being invited by Samba L.A. to march with them in the parade last Sunday morning. What a blast and what an amazing experience. @jessiquinhadancarina what a blessing connecting with you.

Here are some snippets from my performance at Bixby Park for the parade after party. I showed up to hoot and holler about it! Thank you again @jewelslongbeach for the invite. Shout out to @visitlb for any last minute visibility over the weekend. Also, thank you to @the.love.experts for the sponsorship package they put together for me last minute. I was able to at least give out a few of the giveaway bags I made for the festival. A very special thank you to @richy_captures for all the great photos and videos, I them and I love you! Thank you @jewelslongbeach for inviting me out to #bixbypark in my hometown #longbeachcalifornia to perform for Pride Weekend. I had a great time. It may not have been the festival but it sure was FESTIVE and I’m glad the crowd was happy to hear me perform. Also, thank you to everyone who made the Bixby Park Pride Party happen and thank you to the sound tech(s), and most importantly the people who still came to support and everyone in the audience vibing out with me.
