IronMan Bolton 70.3 🇬🇧🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

6:14:16

What a journey this one has been.

Training stats leading in:

* 🏃‍♂️ Run — 503.7 km | 46:26:37
* 🏊‍♂️ Swim — 53.0 km | 24:46:05
* 🚴‍♂️ Bike — 3071.5 km | 116:35:27

9 months training for this and race day finally came, and honestly……it delivered everything.

The swim went exactly to plan how I wanted it. Calm, controlled, and I felt strong throughout especially considering where I started with it back in September.

The bike was solid. Not perfect, but consistent enough to keep things moving and set me up as best as possible. Would’ve liked to have shaved 15 minutes off or so but anybody who knows the layout of Bolton it wasn’t going to be easy.

Then came the run… and that’s where it got real. It absolutely emptied the tank. Every step was a grind, but that’s what it’s all about finding something deep inside you when you feel like you’ve got nothing left.

Crossing that finish line was on another level to anything I’ve ever done. Tough day and a lot to work on but I loved it.

Massive thank you to my Mrs and kids for being there as always— seeing you out on course meant everything. And to all the friends supporting, whether around the course or tracking from afar, it genuinely kept me going when it got hard. Also a big thank you to all them that messaged me before, during and after to congratulate me.

And a huge thank you to my PT @rmaksymowpt for putting up with 9 months of me, the early mornings, the sessions, the planning, and getting me to that start line ready. Couldn’t have done it without you pal💙

Not sure if this is the end of a chapter… or the start of another.

Not bad after 2 weeks of training and dialling it in for once! Motivation since IronMan in June has been lowwwwwwwwwww. Hopefully this is the spark to finish the year in a good place ready to hit Bolton IronMan again!

Thank you @keet89 and my little team for forever following this bald bastard around! 🥚

🩷🎉Happy 9th Birthday Orla🎉🩷

A weekend full of love celebrating Orla’s 9th birthday and her First Holy Communion 🤍

How the years have gone so quick to now and watching you grow from a baby to a young, beautiful, caring and forever loving daughter melts me in every way possible.

For how I just wish I could have you small again for one day and relive them memories we used to have.

You are forever loved by us all princess 💗 by @clithy

One finish line. Two completely different stories.
Celebrate your wins. Respect your struggles.

This isn’t a me vs the other guy on the finish line. It’s a Me vs Me. I know I can do better. This sport has me hooked.

‘It’s Been Fucking Fun’ 🩵

Privileged to have been one of only a handful of staff members to have been fortunate to see what this truly great man delivers daily & what he does best for 10 years.

The memories created and the levels you set for everyone to adhere to made all the special moments worth while. You changed our lives!

Thank you Pep!

PS……We’ll leave the singing to the experts next time 🤣
