The Clitterhouse Farm Hayloft needs urgent repairs to protect its future as a community space in Brent Cross Cricklewood, an area facing significant challenges.
Restoring the roofs will help us keep this historic building alive, create space for local talent, and support ongoing community programs.
We're just getting started, and sharing this can help us reach more people who want to see this space thrive.
Please consider sharing or donating if this cause speaks to you — every bit helps to grow our efforts and secure the future of this important place.

Autumn 🍂 perfect time to collect leaves and make leafmould.
Why leafmould?
It's free.... acts as a soil conditioner, its a form of organic matter that’s perfect for mulching your beds or borders
Well-rotted leafmould can be used as seed-sowing compost , or mixed equally with garden compost and good quality soil for use as potting compost.

Place the leaves into a bin liner, moisten them if they are dry, then pierce holes in the bag, tie the top loosely and stack the bags out of sight for a year.

Or alternatively if you have the space make your leaf heap to hasten decay, and moisten it occasionally if it becomes dry.
Most leaves take about 1 -2 years to break down completely and it depends on the weather
Collecting leaves is very relaxing and its great sensory activity.
Happy composting

The best way to spend a stormy rainy Saturday morning is in the company of like minded people painting, learning a new skill. We painted vegetables borrowed from the amazing produce grown and picked by Clitterhouse gardens volunteers, to the sound of live guitar music that was playing in the cafe, while the students learnt new Watercolour painting techniques. All beginners. I'm so impressed by how well they did. One lady had brought her friend for her birthday treat. Such a good idea for a gift. Having a day out, learning a new skill together.

This is the last beginners watercolour painting session for this year. Keep a look out on the website, Eventbrite and social media for more coming up in the new year.

And there will be Xmas special card making workshop here on the 5th December. Using collage. Fun for all the family. by @clitterhousefarm

Our mini wildflowers meadow is planted, have you planted yours?

By creating a mini meadow you are:
🌼supporting bees 🐝, butterflies 🦋 and biodiversity by providing food and shelter for pollinators and other wildlife
🌼helping build up nature and climate resilience as meadows store rainwater and carbon in their root systems.
🌼adding beauty and colour to your space

Since the 1930s, the UK has lost 97% of its wildflower meadows. By planting a mini meadow, you become part of bringing these vital habitats back.

We have joined the Mini Meadow Movement, led by Finchley Pollinator Project, in partnership with Barnet Council, Climate Connected Communities, and The National Lottery Community Fund.
Join the Mini Meadow Movement, October is the perfect time to sow wildflowers!
