I have a friend who said she would go if she found a gift ticket. I selfishly want her out there. She’s worth it!!!! I know it’s a long shot but I’m reaching out to who I know just in case one pops up. She’s worth it and will make the playa a better place to be. For those who want to see some really good music my friend Thiago is playing Brazilian music at Gold Vibe tonight. He will be accompanied by two other special talents and friends- Tyler Matthew Smith on sax and Aedryan Gantt on the Jembe. Should be an all-star cast. His talent is phenomenal. He has been giving me music lessons for over four years from Brazil. We never had a live lesson until he visited. It will be a very special show. I would love to see you there. by @clkauk

Today is the first day in 16 years that I am working on my birthday, as the last day of burning man is the first Monday of September it turns out that September 1st is guaranteed to be during the event. I alway knew that, it took me 14 years to sit down at eggs bar and figure out that September 1st is actually 1 of 4 days guaranteed to be out there. I consider myself lucky to have been there every year but 1 (I was in Sorrento Italy) of the last 16 years. I remember the first year I went I felt very estranged and met people that had been going already for 15 and 20 years in a row, I never imagined that I would be one of those people. Turned out I became one of those people. It wasn’t until my 3rd year that I found the meaning of it all for me when 6 of my friends joined me and taught me about the spirit of giving and participation. From that year forward burning man has been one of the most meaningful things in my life and here is why.

Everybody has their own story about what burning man is or isn’t whether they have been or not, (I have about 25,469) but this is where the magic is for me (It is not at the trash fence, however, that is where the magic happens) The true magic is that it has brought my friends and family closer through a shared group experience of deep bonding. It has deepened the meaning of the relationships in my life. Burning man is a place where groups of people bond through adversity, laughter, building things, ineffable experiences, sunrises, duststorms, rainbows, broken bones, lost voices, dancing, riding bikes, feeling freedoms and sacrifices, loosing and gaining loved ones, music, portapotties, crying, effigies, temples, sacred places, puking, interactive art projects, climbing things, spinning fire, riding art cars... and on and on, my favorite thing about burning man is that I can spend a whole year telling someone how cool it is and it doesn’t even scratch the surface, my favorite thing to do is to bring virgins and watch their eyes light and and their pupiles get big the first time they walk out on to that crazy space we call the playa. The point is that it has brought me more meaningful relationships with my friends and family. M by @clkauk

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, mothers, and those who support raising the children of this planet, I’m so grateful that this little guy has made me a father.
