It was truly an honor to be invited by @nike once again to create a unique series of artworks for the Nike By You collection. This time, the designs draw inspiration from Malaysian culture - its elements, food, childhood snacks, sweets, and of course, street influences.

I genuinely enjoyed bringing these visuals to life, as they brought back fond memories of growing up in shophouses and visiting corner shops filled with these iconic treats.

Check out the collection exclusively at Nike Pavilion Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 from 20th April, and Nike Orchard Road & Nike Jewel 🇸🇬 from 25th May onwards.

"Listen to the Nature"

Inspired by the harmony of nature, I imagined a world where humans and insects coexist in balance. We depend on one another to maintain that equilibrium. Although we often see ourselves as the best landscape designers, it's important to stay open-minded, observe the natural world, and draw inspiration from other life forms. Each species has its own unique way of shaping an environment that supports life, and there's much we can learn from that.

"The World is My Playground"

Creating this mural presented a unique challenge due to numerous windows, limited space, and adjacent car parks. As an artist, I embraced the difficulty and turned it into an opportunity. After scouting the location and tossing around ideas, I developed the concept inspired by my childhood Japanese TV series, Ultraman & Godzilla. The mural features a character who is a set designer, along with his mischievous cat in a monster costume attempting to destroy the building diorama created by the character. I incorporated the parking area, using scale to depict toy cars. It is a reminder that in this artwork we are miniature figures in the character's world, illustrating how small we are as humans yet capable of dreaming big and achieving greatness.

Everyone needs to use the toilet 🚽🧻. One day, while I was taking a 💩, I noticed this rather scary-looking mascot staring back at me. I found it quite intimidating.

So, I took it upon myself to recreate the mascot into a more colorful, vivid, and friendly version, something that feels a little less scary and a lot more inviting. 🤗

I’ve always had stage fright, and I rarely conduct workshops. So when I received this opportunity, my first thought was that if I turned it down, I might regret it someday.

Instead of letting fear hold me back, I decided to see it as a chance to step outside my comfort zone and challenge myself. So, I said yes.

I started practicing my speech, worked through the nerves, and eventually found my rhythm, my flow, and most importantly, my confidence.

I’m truly grateful for this opportunity and for the chance to push myself beyond what I once thought I was capable of.

Hopefully, one day, I’ll get the chance to visit the Apple Park in person! 🍎

(And yes, I already have my US visa ready! 🇺🇸✈️)

The 3rd edition of “CLOAKY” is now available in two distinctive colorways: Worker and Paddle Pop.

The Worker colorway serves as a reminder that life is always a work in progress. Whether we take small or big steps, every bit of progress counts. Meanwhile, the Paddle Pop colorway takes us on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, inspired by the childhood ice cream we always looked forward to whenever we visited a convenience store. It’s the perfect colorway for fans who love a sweet touch of nostalgia.

I came across this retro mural artwork in Sibu and got into a conversation with the owner. He told me that the shop had closed down, was recently taken over by a new tenant, and would soon be painted over with a fresh new colour.
So, before it disappeared, I thought I’d give it a little remix.

I preserved parts of the original artwork while reworking the characters into a fusion of traditional painting and graffiti, industrial lacquer paint meeting spray paint.

It was quite a fun process, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. A little piece of the old, remixed into something new before it was gone.

This month Chern and Zoe bid farewell to their first home and studio project, Scampi Studio version 1. Located in Melawati, the couple transformed a 30 year old, less than 1000 sqft unit to a creative space to suit their needs.
