The theme for @thebeautyfestivalfrofest was #TasteofAfrica and I’m one always up for matching a good theme.

That said, this look was put together with the inspiration predominantly focused on the pants, drawing reference from the recent “Carnival is Fashion Too!!!” Host in Trinidad and Tobago.

The combination and placement of patterns speak to the mother land and being rooted in your culture.

The color selection ties into the similarity of the colors of the Antiguan & Barbudan madras making it relatable to the diaspora’s traditional wear while the draping and dangling fabrics and baggy design help to tie the design into my Jamaican roots specifically to the “Pitchy Patchy” in Jamaican Junkanoo.

I really enjoyed the theme this year for #FROFEST2025 and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for #FROFEST2026.
