I haven't really spoken about the last few years of my journey and how I got here so let me give you the full version.

I hope this gives someone the push they need — because the path doesn't have to be pretty. Mine definitely wasn't.

No redemption arc. Just damage assessed.

1. Spent $50k on an engineering degree thinking it would open every door. Ended up opening the door to a construction site.
2. Got a builders course thinking I was going to become a builder. Spoiler: never built anything.
3. Got a construction job. Showed up every day. Worked hard. Realised pretty quickly I'd just traded one ceiling for another.
4. Started a social media marketing company. Tanked. Clients didn't come. Lessons did.
5. Ran a data management company. Same story. Good idea. Wrong execution. Wrong timing.
6. Tried stock trading. Lost $15K+. Not because the market was bad — because I had no edge and way too much confidence.
7. Built a dropshipping store. Made some sales. Product got banned overnight. Back to zero.
8. Got a business degree thinking it would teach me how to run a business. It taught me theory. Zero application.
9. Spent months consuming content about how to make money instead of actually doing anything. Confused busy with productive.
10. Almost didn't get into remote sales because someone told me you needed experience. Nearly believed them.

I'm 27 now.
Still figuring it out.
No "ahead of schedule" milestones.
No clean story to sell.

And honestly?
For a long time I was embarrassed by all of it. Every failed business. Every wasted course. Every bad investment. I kept moving onto the next thing hoping nobody noticed the last one didn't work.

But here's what all of it taught me.

The L's aren't the problem. Staying comfortable is.

Every single failure pointed me somewhere. The construction site pointed me to finding a better model. The failed businesses taught me what I was actually good at. The lost money taught me that shortcuts don't exist.

Sales didn't fall into my lap. It was the thing I found after running out of other options.
And it's the first thing that's actually worked.

This isn't a comeback post.
It's just the honest version.

If you're in your 20s collecting L's right now — you're not behind. You're just done lying to yourself. And that's where it actually starts.

The feeling of building something that's actually yours.

There's nothing like it.

It's not the money.

Not the followers.

Not the highlight reel moments.

It's the quiet feeling at the end of a day where you showed up for something you actually believe in.

Where the effort went into your thing.

Your name. Your brand. Your future.

Not someone else's bottom line.

Building is hard.

Lonely sometimes.

Uncertain most of the time.

But there's a feeling underneath all of it that makes every hard day worth it.

The feeling of watching something grow that didn't exist before you decided to start.

Slowly.

Then all at once.

Most people never get to feel it.

Because they never start.

If you're in the middle of building something right now — keep going.

The feeling on the other side is worth every uncomfortable day it takes to get there.

“I could never do sales. Too much rejection.”

I hear this every week.

Here’s what nobody tells you. The rejection isn’t about you. The prospect is saying no to the offer, the timing, or their own fear. Not you.

I learned that the hard way. My first few hundred calls, every no felt personal. I’d replay them in my head all night.

Then a mentor asked me one question: “What did that no teach you?”

Changed everything.

Every no tells you something:
→ Wrong lead. Fix your targeting.
→ Wrong timing. Follow up later.
→ An objection you couldn’t handle. Learn it, practise it, own it.

Do that for a few months and something weird happens. The no’s stop hurting. You start hearing patterns. You close more.

You don’t get tougher. You get better.

When you think you can hurt my feelings.

Darling.

I work in sales.

“No” is my love language. 😂

You think a rejection is going to rattle me?

I’ve been told no more times before lunch than most people hear in a year.

No, not interested.

No, send me an email.

No, I need to think about it.

No, we went with someone else.

Every single day.

And I show up the next morning and ask for the yes again.

Rejection stopped being personal a long time ago.

It became information.

A no just means not yet, or not the right fit, or something I didn’t handle well enough — and all three are
fixable.

You can’t hurt someone who’s been professionally rejected for a living and kept going anyway.

Sales doesn’t just build your income.

It builds a skin that nothing gets through.

“I hope he doesn’t play video games.”

It’s worse.

opens laptop

puts headset on

joins the fifth Zoom call of the day

He’s in sales.

She thought the worst case was a bloke who disappears into Call of Duty every night.

Instead she got one who says “let me just hop on one more call” at 9pm and means it.

Who talks about close rates at dinner.

Who gets more excited about a signed agreement than a night out.

Who treats his pipeline like a second relationship.

Video games you can pause.

A hot lead you cannot. 😂

To everyone dating someone in sales — I’m sorry.

We can’t help it.

A senior manager once told me what happens to people who care too much.

And I wish she didn’t.

She said — “The ones who care the most are the ones who burn out the fastest. And the company will let
them.”

She wasn’t being cruel.

She was being honest.

She’d watched it happen for years.

The person who stays late.

The person who takes it personally.

The person who treats the company’s problems like their own.

They get used up.

And then quietly replaced.

Because caring too much in a place that doesn’t care back isn’t loyalty.

It’s a slow way to lose yourself.

That conversation stuck with me.

Not because it made me care less.

But because it made me realise where I was pouring all that care was the problem.

I was giving everything to something that would never give it back.

So I took that same energy — the caring, the effort, the obsession — and I put it into something I actually
owned.

Where caring too much isn’t a liability.

It’s the whole advantage.

Where the effort compounds for me instead of getting absorbed by someone else’s bottom line.

Care deeply.

Just be very careful where you aim it.

Do crackheads say "I can't afford it" and give up?

No.

They find a way.

Every single time.

No budget. No plan. No resources.

And somehow — they make it happen.

Meanwhile people with degrees, jobs, full support systems and every advantage say "I can't get into high ticket sales, I'm too broke to invest in myself."

Let that sink in.

The most under-resourced person you can think of finds a way to get what they want.

And you're telling me you can't figure out how to build a skill that pays for life?

I'm not glorifying anything here.

I'm making a point.

If someone with nothing can summon that level of resourcefulness for the wrong thing —

Imagine what you could do pointing that same energy at the right thing.

Broke is a temporary situation.

Broke is not a personality.

Broke is not an excuse.

Stop letting your circumstances make your decisions for you.

Find a way.

There's always a way.

Pressure is a privilege.

The call you're nervous about means you've got a shot at closing it.

The month you're stressed about hitting means you've got a target worth chasing.

The weight you feel means you're carrying something that matters.

Most people will never feel this kind of pressure.

Not because they're better.

Because they chose comfort.

They chose the fixed salary.

The guaranteed paycheck.

The ceiling they can't see until they hit it.

No pressure. No risk. No upside.

I'll take the pressure.

Every single time.

Because pressure means I'm in the arena.

Pressure means the outcome depends on me.

Pressure means there's no cap on what's possible

The nerves before a big call.

The stress of a slow week.

The weight of building something from nothing

That's not a burden.

That's a privilege most people never earn the right to feel.

Embrace it.

“Once you go remote, you don’t go back.”

He’s not talking about beaches or laptops by a pool.

He’s talking about traffic.

A 20-minute drive that takes 50.

Then the same again on the way home. Hours every week that nobody pays you for.

Remote is simpler than people make it sound. You do your work. You tick off your tasks. You close the laptop and you’re finished.

“Work should be a part of your life, not your full life.”

Comment REMOTE and I’ll send you the full episode.
