Long before “Limerence” became a familiar sound on the FYP, @acnestudios had already built a fashion film around it. Uploaded in January 2018 for the Men’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, the film pairs @yvestumor’s ambient track with a deliberately experimental visual language. It feels less like a conventional campaign and more like a moving study of clothes, bodies and atmosphere. The choice was not random. Jonny Johansson described the collection as sensitive and romantic, inspired by the transition from a crowded city to a Swedish summer house. “Limerence,” released through PAN on the compilation Mono No Aware in 2017, carries a similar feeling through soft synths, private voices and fragments of memory drifting in and out of focus. The connection did not end with the film. Six years later, Yves Tumor appeared as the muse of Acne Studios’ FW24 menswear campaign, bringing the relationship between the artist and the house full circle. The track may belong to the FYP now. Acne Studios was already listening. Film and collection by @acnestudios Music: “Limerence” by @yvestumor by @clothes.archives
Haunted Starbucks feels less like a fashion label and more like a corrupted folder recovered from the internet. Created by James Wallace, the brand treats the visual noise of being online as an archive: Counter-Strike graphics, WhatsApp logos, surveillance systems, bootleg sportswear, anime, shoplifting warnings and everything most designers would consider too cheap, obvious or ridiculous to touch. What makes it work is the commitment. The joke never remains a screenshot. These references are rebuilt as actual shoes, jerseys, polos and cut-and-sew garments. A messaging app becomes a club crest. A shoplifting warning becomes a team identity. Forgotten gaming graphics are handled with the same confidence fashion usually reserves for heritage logos. That is what separates Haunted Starbucks from disposable meme merch. It does not simply print internet culture onto clothing. It understands how the internet looks, how quickly it mutates and why the worst image is often the one you remember. Haunted Starbucks never tries to make the internet tasteful. It preserves the confusion, humour and chaos. Here, brainrot becomes a design language. Designs by @hauntedstarbucks. by @clothes.archives
🧚 The Embodied Weapons created by Chantal Shen seem to have been forged rather than made. Their silhouettes belong to blades and ceremonial objects, while the dense filigree recalls gates, reliquaries and antique metalwork. Yet the series is made from latex, eyeshadow, clay, moissanite, wood and plastic, materials associated with skin, cosmetics, jewellery and fabrication rather than weaponry. That unexpected combination gives the work its tension. The objects carry the visual authority of weapons, but their surfaces feel delicate, bodily and ornamental. Soft and synthetic elements are made to resemble something ancient, precious and dangerous. They sit somewhere between sculpture, armour and artefacts from a world that never existed. 👾👕 Before gaming entered fashion through carefully planned collaborations, it lived on ordinary cotton T-shirts, sold as merchandise, given away during promotions or made for the people working behind the games. Most were never expected to become collectible. Years later, their cracked graphics, faded black fabric and strangely specific artwork became exactly what modern merchandise often lacks: character. A vintage Resident Evil, Silent Hill or Final Fantasy tee is no longer just a sign of fandom. It is a surviving piece of the visual culture that surrounded those games. What began as merchandise is now treated like an archive hunted, traded and worn far beyond gaming culture. The games became classics. The T-shirts followed. The MA-1 was developed in the 1950s for the realities of jet flight. Cockpits were tighter, altitudes were higher, and bulky leather jackets no longer made much sense. Its nylon shell was lighter, resisted moisture and remained flexible in the cold. Later versions added a reversible rescue-orange lining, making downed airmen easier to spot. Once military surplus put the jacket into civilian hands, it found an entirely different audience. British skinhead and punk scenes valued the same things pilots had: warmth, durability and a compact, unmistakable shape. What began as equipment became a uniform. Designers eventually picked up that silhouette, changing its fabric, proportions and price while leaving the basic idea intact. The MA-1 still looks modern because it was never designed around a trend. It was designed around a job. Not bad for a jacket that was never meant to be cool:) ✈️ by @clothes.archives
