Meet Bruno. 🐾💛

Bruno was diagnosed with megaesophagus as a tiny kitten.

His life looks a little different.
He needs special feeding, the right position, medication, patience… and lots of love.

But Bruno doesn’t know he’s “different.”

He plays. He explores. He gets into trouble.
He cuddles. He purrs. He’s a kitten. ❤️

He has some bad days, now very few, but with the right care and a few adaptations, Bruno is thriving.

Sadly, kittens with megaesophagus are sometimes given up on too soon.

Bruno is proof that different doesn’t mean less.

They deserve a chance. 🐾 Thanks to @littlebeans.rescue for all the help and for giving Bruno a chance.

Foster Needed ASAP

This little kitten was found by an Amazon driver after almost being run over in a parking lot. Thankfully, he was spotted just in time.

Right now, he’s safe, but only in a box while the driver is trying try to find someone who can foster him. He’s just a tiny baby and really needs a warm, safe place to land.

If you can foster him, please send me a DM. If you can’t, sharing this post could help us find the right person.

The 5th Grade Dual Language students at Gator Run Elementary created something so special for our shelter pets 🎨🐾. Each of the 44 kids made a portrait for a dog or cat still waiting for a family.

Here are just a few of their drawings — paired with the real pets who inspired them 💛 We’ll be sharing all of them over the next few days.

44 kids. 44 portraits. 44 chances at love.

Broward Buddies is a fun activity that falls under our Foster program. Volunteers sign up to help improve the lives of our shelter animals and increase their likelihood of adoption by giving them opportunities to interact within the community at parks, restaurants, and other locations. The program also allows Broward County Animal Care to create awareness about our facility, volunteers to develop meaningful interactions with our dogs, and an opportunity for dogs to enjoy a few hours outside of the kennels.
