Our friend Norma Jean needs your help.

A serious car accident has left her in critical condition, in a coma.

This terrible event comes just weeks after receiving the life-affirming news that her year-long course of chemotherapy was successful, and that she was cancer free at last.

We are asking friends and friends of friends to add Norma to their thoughts, their prayers, their meditations, and to spread the word about the fundraiser we hope can provide the softest cushion for her as she recovers.

Please send this video, and the fundraiser link below to your friends, family, any one of means. The path to recovery will be long, but the world is a better place with Norma in it. (link also in bio)

At my birthday this winter I was kvetching about how I would defect if I had to drive down route nine one more time. An empty threat, I always come back. My friend J who’s lived here his whole life said he’d has those moments, but he had decided to love it. So I took up deciding to love it, and lovely things have reciprocated. Dream Choir is one of them. Friends sharing music and art and playing soccer have been others. My synopsis of this place to visitors is that it’s eternally the Summer After College. I think there were moments where I said that disparagingly, but coming and going has shed sort of a holy light on that feeling; the feeling that no one is in a rush when they ask you how you are, that everyone has a lot of time to make things together, that it’s possible to swim twice a day, that if I need anything at all, someone will drop it off on my porch. I like very slowly growing up together. I like giving each other the benefit of the doubt. I like the benefits of The Doubt that is possibly what kept me here originally but has given way to faith in a really palpable kindness and, in the words of Lorne Falk, Serious Play. by @cloud_history
