✌🏼☺️✌🏼 for Lake Twentytwooooo!! I’ve avoided this hike for many years because it’s 6 miles long & usually I like to keep my hikes under 4.5 miles.. But I finally went on it and realized it was fairly easy and most definitely gorgeous.. I had so much fun going off the trail to hunt down the sounds of hidden waterfalls.. I definitely could do this hike for exercise every week.. But I also realized how many of these hikes on my bookmark list have been held on to because I didn’t have the courage to hike them.. Well this month I will find out by hiking harder hikes & see if I die 💪🏼😍

I haven’t been back on this trail for more than 3 years, but I used to come to this trail very often.. I can’t believe how I’ve missed this trail 😻🫶🏼 It’s as fun as I remembered.. The bridge on this trail was broken for a couple years.. It just finished fixing this year & prior to that I read reviews on @alltrails that everybody was crossing the cold river with their feet.. I like thanks but no thanks 😅😂 It is highly not recommended to go inside the cave but as you can see I have a hard time following directions everywhere I go.. I have a lack of concern for my life doesn’t mean you should risk it.. So enter at your own risk please 🙏🏼

Happy National Hiking Day ✌️ Even though it's raining today & couldn't go out for a hike.. I'd like to share my Crater Lake National Park experience while I was on the Cleetwood Cove Trail.. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the US BTW 😍 This trail is a steep 1 mile down & up trail & while I was on this trail someone twisted their ankle & needed assistance from Park Rangers 🥲 I saw the entire process go down & this is why I emphasize the urgency to support our Park Rangers.. It took 6 Park Rangers to rescue a twisted ankle 🫣 & it's disheartening to see the same people go out of a job for 40 days.. This is not right & you know it.. Now that they've gone back to work doesn't even mean their jobs aren't still at risks.. I urge everybody to really think of the consequences of not having the existence of Park Rangers & where some of these visitors would end up at the end of the day 😰 Not gonna be pretty for sure!!

I'm very spontaneous when I'm on trips & sometimes I don't know where I'm going till the day of 🫣 My next Kyoto location wasn't even on my list to visit but I randomly saw @biwakovalley_biwakoterrace while I was browsing Lake Biwa in Otsu.. The Biwako Valley usually is a ski resort in the winter but the rest of the year they operate as a beautiful sightseeing destination to view Otsu Lake 😍 It was so nice to head out of the city & get into small-town vibes 😉 Just like any destination in Japan once you get up there by ski lifts (which I love riding) there are old Japanese structures.. What I didn't expect after the ski lifts was the suspension bridge 🫣 If you do ever decide to get out of Kyoto & check out this destination I'd warn you their gondola 🚠 goes so fast people were screaming lol!!! #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #biwako #lakebiwa taken in Biwako Valley Snow Ski Resort by @cloverlicious

The last time I was in Japan I was at Nara Park too distracted by the deers I didn't get to explore my next destination & I was quite upset when I left Japan 🤣 So this time I was determined to go see the giant Buddha statue at the 東大寺 (Toudai-ji) & let's say I felt very satisfied 🥰 The temple is 1274-year-old with a 15-meter tall 大仏 (Daibutsu) Buddha statue that weights around 400-500 tons 🤯 I must say that the pictures don't do the statue justice because you really can't imagine just how big the statue is.. If you've been to Oahu island of Hawaii.. It's very likely you've visited the Hawaii version of my next destination 平等院 (Byoudo-en) in Uji Kyoto 😍 This beautiful Buddhist temple is 1028-year-old & the one is Hawaii is a 100-year-old celebration replica of the one in Japan 🤯 In Hawaii you are allowed to ring the 🔔 but the one in Japan was too old for them to allow tourists to ring the bell 🥹 Sometimes I think of if I would visit these temples again when I visit Kyoto again & for this one I would like to because I didn't get to see the famous Buddha statue here.. Like any old temples in Japan this temple suffered a fire & the only hall untouched was the Buddha statue's Phoenix Hall 🫣 Therefore while the surrounding of the temple had been renovated the Buddha statue remains over 1000-year-old isn't that something!! #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #byodointemple #japanculture taken in 平等院 Byodoin Temple by @cloverlicious

The most popular shrine of all in Kyoto is the 伏見稲荷大社 (Fushimi Inari Taisha) which I had previously visited but thought it would be interesting this time to go during sunset to avoid the crowds & it did not disappoint 💯👍 The shrine dates back to 1300-year-old but the 鳥居 (torii gates) ⛩️ can be recent as they are donations from an individual or a company wishing for business success.. 狐 (kitsune) are viewed as the spiritual messengers of this shrine 🦊 This shrine & many similar across Japan are dedicated to Shinto Inari for god of rice, agriculture, business prosperity, and sake 🍶 #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #japanculture #fushimiinari taken in Fushimi Inari Taisha 伏見稲荷大社 by @cloverlicious

The 金閣寺 (Golden Pavilion) is 629-year-old but the structure renovated with gold is only 71 🤔 Like many old places you've probably been to this place caught on 🔥 The gold color is from delicate 金箔 (gold leaf) meticulously laid on as the material is quite delicate & this kinpaku is also known as edible gold that you might have eaten on ice cream & some fine dining dishes 😍 The entire establishment of this temple is quite small & the only attraction is this temple but I think it's 💯 worthwhile going through the heavy crowds and check it out 😉 #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #kinkakuji #japanculture taken in 金閣寺 Kinkaku-Ji, Golden Pavilion, Kyoto, Japan by @cloverlicious

Taking a break from visiting temples in Kyoto.. I went to the @uzumasa_kyoto_village to see the live size EVA from Evangelion 😍 When you get to the top of the EVA you can sit in a human size capsule from the anime 🙀 I was hoping the door would close & trap me inside but it didn't lol.. But whether you've watched this anime or not I think this is a great park to come to & enjoy this experience cuz the EVA is so cool to experience 👍 While I was here we also I also experienced their Yokai (monster) Festival but it was not really easy to take a photo of because the monsters were dancing during the festival so I will upload a reel later 😉 #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #evangelion #animefigure taken in Kyoto Uzumasa Eigamura by @cloverlicious

After mistakenly getting off the bus too early.. I continued to the main event of the day which is the 清水寺 (Kiyomizu-dera) which is 1250-year-old temple in Kyoto famous for overlooking a beautiful view of the city itself 😍 As you walk past the main temple itself you'll find many couples & single Japanese girls praying for true love blessings 😳 Then I followed the path downhill through lower 東山 (Higashiyama) to see one of Kyoto's oldest villages.. Which leads to the next main event which is the 八坂の塔 (Yasada Pagoda).. The pagoda is part of Kyoto's oldest temple dating back for 1500-year 😱 What's very interesting about this particular shrine is that it's the spiritual protector of the geisha district and a dedicated sanctuary for beauty 😽 So ultimately this is where you'll see many girls in 👘 taking photos & praying for long-lasting beautiful looks!! #kyototrip #kyotojapan #kyototravel #kiyomizudera #yasakashrine taken in 清水寺 (Kiyomizu-dera Temple) by @cloverlicious

My 1st destination in Kyoto was a destination on my list that I originally took off due to time restraints but after mistakenly getting off the wrong bus stop.. I landed in front of the 西本願寺 (Nishihongan-ji) which is a 400-year old Buddhist temple in Kyoto 🇯🇵 I am sure this was meant to be because this was the only temple where visitors were allowed to go inside and 🙏 The temple is not the only 400-year old masterpiece but also the giant ginkoo tree is also decades old & survived a 🔥 I highly recommend this temple if you're looking to embrace some meditation & not too crowded during your trip as the rest of the temples I visited were extremely overwhelming 🫣 This location was a really nice warm up before chaos 🤭 #kyotojapan #kyototravel #kyototrip #nishihonganji #japanculture taken in Nishi Honganji by @cloverlicious

Last day in Chi-town I was able to finally get a dip in the Lake Michigan water 😍 & a beach with a downtown Chicago view 💯 That's a view to remember forever.. The water was so nice that I wished I brought a swim suit & that's the first thing I told myself I would do next time when I come back 🌊 Earlier that day we went to check out the @shedd_aquarium & if you don't know this about me I'm an aquarium freak 🤭 I've been to aquariums in 6 different states & in 4 different countries.. & I don't think I've seen a beluga whale ever till this one so I was def in obsessed when I saw them 🫶 #chitown #chicagogram #beachbum #aquariumsofinstagram #lakemichigan taken in Chicago, IL by @cloverlicious
