During his internship at the Athletic Lab (@athleticlab), Cristian Ibanescu ‘26 has been assisting in training sessions for the North Carolina Courage professional women’s soccer team. “Being part of a professional training environment has given me valuable insight into the preparation, attention to detail and standards required to support elite athletes,” he said.

Ibanescu, who holds a bachelor’s in exercise science from UNC Charlotte, is pursuing a master’s in kinesiology with a concentration in strength and conditioning. He’s serving as a coaching intern at the sports performance facility in Mooresville, NC and among other things is coaching training sessions and assisting with athlete performance testing.

"Every day has provided opportunities to improve my coaching, strengthen my understanding of sport science and continue developing as a future strength and conditioning professional,” Ibanescu said. by @clt_aphcs

A&P Lecturer Dr. Spencer Cain recently led a workshop at the 2026 Anatomage Conference, where she shared strategies and best practices for integrating the Anatomage Table and tablets into anatomy and physiology instruction. During the hands-on sessions, attendees practiced creating interactive 3D visualizations to enhance lectures and laboratory experiences while exploring ways to adapt these teaching strategies for a variety of class sizes, course levels, and learning objectives.

We are excited for our students to continue to see the tables firsthand through course instruction this Fall! by @clt_aphcs

During his internship at the U.S. Performance Center (@usperformancecenter), kinesiology graduate student Grayson Martin is supporting the center’s coaches as they run resistance and fieldwork sessions for hockey, taekwondo, judo, pentathlon, archery and Paralympic sports. The internship is giving him the opportunity to go beyond the textbook. “Things look different when applied to real athletes with real competition timelines,” Martin said. “Seeing the classroom concepts hold up in a real training environment is exactly the kind of bridge I need to become the coach I want to be.” by @clt_aphcs
