🤲 31 people. One chorus. One message: We are stronger Together.

Had to share this incredible CIAF moment we stumbled upon when **31 people** - friends, family, artists, strangers - joined hands to experience 2025 Blumenthal Fellow Emily Sage Avery’s interactive sound sculpture “Together” that transforms human touch into harmony. The piece is usually meant for groups of 3-4 - but IT STILL WORKED! CIAF MAGIC! ✨

Over the past four months I’ve been creating paper mache pageant puppets of international explorer women for @cltartsfest. Who are these gals you ask?

Ynes Mexia, a Mexican-American Botonist who got her start in her 50’s and went on daring expeditions throughout South America.

Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman aviator. She moved to France to earn her pilot license after being barred from U.S. flight schools.

Cheng I Sao, a fearless Chinese pirate queen who commanded a fleet of over 400 ships.

Grateful to @blumenthalarts for this opportunity, and all the puppeteers who brought these woman to life with me.

Shining the CIAF Spotlight on 2025 Blumenthal Fellow Jay Huleatt and his stunning installation SYNC on display under the big tent outside of Stage 1 at Blume Studios!

Sync was conceived as an unfinished piece - one that invites the audience to interact with it. Each gesture influences and reshapes the colors and rhythms, as the viewer provides the missing piece and completes the work as a co-creator of the art itself.

CIAF comes to a close this evening, but you can still enjoy Jay’s work at Blume Studios THROUGH JANUARY 4! by @cltartsfest
