Story Time.
Baseball is a small family. Katie Hall Topper and I are at the beach today in Split, Croatia and a ball goes skimming by me. Being a good guy, I swim over to get it to throw it back to where it came from. The guy says, is that an App State hat, and I said yes it is. We starting talking to these 3 guys and they are also from the Charlotte/Huntersville area and went to the Community School of Davidson. Just graduated from State and Chapel Hill (fourth guy not in the water, from Brown, and played baseball). Start talking about App club baseball, and one guy said he played club at Chapel Hill. I said Caleb Topper played for App. He said he once played App and popped up the ball to the catcher and got trucked by the pitcher. I said it was probably Caleb. He goes, is he a lefty, and I replied yes. Got out of the water and texted Caleb, he said "Yep, that was me", and then asked why are you brining up that story. I said, I just met "that" guy. 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Caleb did say it was like hitting a brick wall.

Quick round up of the first 3 days of the European Cup Baseball Championship in Weiner Neustadt 🇦🇹.

Day 1 Dornbirn Indians 🇦🇹 v. Ràttviks 🇸🇪. Not a great day for baseball. Early blow out. Joshua Topper came in relief for 1.2 innings.

Day 2 Dornbirn Indians 🇦🇹 v. Therwil Flyers 🇨🇭. 9-1 Indians win. Josh was the DH and went 1 for 3 with a double.

Day 3 Dornbirn Indians 🇦🇹 v. Borgerhout Squirrels 🇧🇪. 11-4 Indians win. Josh was the starting pitcher. Went 5 innings, 4H, 3ERs, 1BB, and 5Ks for the dub. At the dish, he went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles.

Today is a day off so Katie Hall Topper and I will be going to Graz, Austria and do a little sightseeing. by @cltgator

Yesterday was a cold and rainy day in Hard, Austria. But Katie Hall Topper , Joshua Topper , and myself got to watch Caleb Topper and his Schwechat Blue Bats battle (Caleb's old team), the Hard Bulls. Caleb had a complete game going 9 innings, 5H, 3ER, 3 walks, with 7 strikeouts. At the plate he went 1 for 3 with 2 walks and the 5-3 win. The second game, Caleb went 2 for 2 at the plate (both doubles) raising his batting average to .486. It was great to have the whole family together. by @cltgator

Katie Hall Topper had a great Mother's Day weekend. A little over 24 hours in 🇦🇹, she was able to see Caleb Topper get his first win of the season on Friday night. Saturday, she got to see Joshua Topper 's double header. Today she got to see Caleb's Sunday game on Mother's Day. Not a bad start to this trip. by @cltgator
