So happy to be part of this amazing steelpan community. From my O'Levels and CXC days listening to Solo Harmonites practicing from my backsteps, and hearing Dennis McComie and Pat Bishop talking about syncopation and crescendos on my “tapedeck", to my first Panorama in ‘86 when I left a party and somehow end up in the savannah, to photographing Panorama on stage to actually playing steelpan at a concert at NAPA last year 🤯. It's been a journey and so happy that steelpan is having its time in the spotlight. To all the beautiful, talented, crazy, patient, remarkable, gifted, dedicated passionate, hardworking people in the Steelpan community Happy World Steelpan Day! taken in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies by @cluechoy

👁⚡️The Golden Moko⚡️👁

The Moko Jumbie is something far greater than any one individual.Ego has no place in this calling. The height strips away the identity one carries and reminds them that they are a part of something much bigger than themselves. On stilts, We are not above others, but in service to them.

Following the last #19Bullets19Protests event organized by @alyssamphillip at the DPP's Office, the citizens calling for justice and transparency were labelled as "grifters" and accused of "publicity farming" and "victim gimmickry".

At the latest protest near the Forensic Science Centre, in an act of reclamation, many supporters took ownership of these terms, physically labelling and gagging themselves while they stood in silent solidarity for 19 minutes.

Following the detention and taking away of #19Bullets19Protests organizer @alyssamphillip and her mother Camile Carasquero, the police advance on the crowd of supporters after several verbal warnings to disperse.

Despite this, many persons remained continuing the call for justice, transparency and answers in the shooting of Kaia Sealy and the shooting death of Joshua Samaroo, and several others over the years.
