Hi all 👋🏽

I wanted to celebrate our 2k follower milestone with a little introduction for those who don’t know me personally.

I'd much rather be hiding behind the camera or in this case, behind the Instagram app itself when it comes to sharing the stories of our cottage but I recently had the opportunity for my photo to be taken by the lovely @hannahpuechmarin and I think it’s the best shot of me to date!

My husband and I purchased this 50-acre island paradise, just on 5 years ago. The cottage and house yard didn’t look like it does today, it was very overgrown and the cottage, run down. I knew from the moment I inspected the property that I had to share it with guests as a holiday home so the intention has always been there and we've worked hard to clean the place up.

Clancy and I currently live in the cottage along with our 5 dogs (yes 5) and 2 Rosellas as we sold our home recently. We are both huge animal lovers and enjoy the vast range of birdlife we have here at the farm. We have cattle too, but they are currently grazing over at Clancy's dad's farm. I hope we can move them here again soon however the weather here on the island is temperamental and unforgiving.

I truly love being a host and sharing our little shack on the water. I am very creative and thrive in this environment so it is lovely to have an outlet, in the form of the cottage when your "grown up" career can be on the boring side! We hope to have the cottage open again to guests in the last quarter of the year with a few new additions including an outdoor bath!

Here are 5 small things about me below that I absolutely love:

- Cups of Tea
- Dogs!
- Any TV show relating to the restoration and history of old homes (Grand Designs, Restoration Australia etc.)
- Hunting for antiques
- Music - especially Punk, Metal, and its associated history.

There’s something about a little white cottage by the water that makes everything slow down.

Life has well and truly gotten in the way as of late and I feel like I’m playing catch ups. The amazingly creative Skye spent a few hours over lunch here on a sunny summers day and these gorgeous shots are giving me nostalgic vibes. Just a little snippet of the Crafters Retreat that I was lucky enough to be a part of for the beautiful Emma of @boutiquebarnco

The stunning, curated and restored @bandongrove_schoolhouse hosted Emma and her guests who were kept well fed, with locally sourced ingredients and meals prepared with such care and finesse.

The weekend was definitely filled with laughter, creativity and a sense of accomplishment!

That feeling of freshly mown grass under feet is so calming and grounding. Everything is so lush and Green here at the moment. I’m enjoying the evenings on the lawn with the puppies, playing and listening to the birds.

There’s nothing quite like the soothing sound of raindrops on the roof to inspire a bubble bath retreat in the cottage. I’m still searching for that perfect tub in Rosabella so for now, I will just dream about being here.
