A proud mama mallard and her ducklings 🦆🐥 It was so fun to watch their interactions. They were eating, playing, and simply being cute!

How could you be intimidated by this fluffy carpenter bee doing his work?🐝 Male carpenter bees don’t have stingers at all. They dart around you out of pure bluff.

Woah! A loggerhead shrike! (Rare to my area in NC) At first I thought this was a mockingbird or chickadee, but quickly realized this songbird had a dark side, evident by its hooked beak. This cute little bird is nicknamed the “butcherbird” because it impales its prey on thorns & barbed wire to save for later. So metal 🤘

Have you ever spotted one of these? If so, where?

A pair of beautiful black swans in Cameron, NC. Did you know about a quarter of black swan couples are same-sex male pairs? 🦢🖤

8/27/2026: Completely unedited shots of last nights Sturgeon moon with partial lunar eclipse 🌝 it was a stormy, cloudy night where I’m located in NC, but am so honored to see the moon and her beauty. I definitely stayed up WAY past my bedtime than usual, but it was a good learning experience adjusting settings for a stagnant subject compared to animate wildlife.
