Welcome to our corner of Instagram. 💙

We’ve had a few new faces around here lately, so we thought we’d properly introduce ourselves and what we’re all about.

CMcare is young support workers supporting young people with disabilities — and somewhere along the way, it became a whole little community.

We navigate an ever-changing NDIS, a ridiculous amount of paperwork and an insurance bill that’s through the roof because apparently we struggle to say no when someone wants to surf, travel, camp, box, dance or jump on a plane 😂

We take the risks seriously. We do the paperwork. We follow the rules.

But we never want the system to become the reason someone watches life from the sidelines.

So we say yes where we can.

Yes to mates. Jobs. Travel. Independence. Nights out. Trying something new. And sometimes doing things that make Mum and Dad a little nervous 😂

It’s not always polished. There’s a LOT that happens behind the scenes but we’re going to keep our content raw and really raise awareness and show what’s it’s like.

But our people are living, growing and absolutely BOSSING milestones.

And that’s pretty much us. 🩵

I don’t think people realise what goes into getting a group like ours on a trip like this 😂 Some of our crew have actually saved their own money to be here, some have very generous parents who still work so hard for their very adult child 😉 and then those parents hand them over to us and trust that we’re going to somehow pull the whole thing off. (Which we absolutely do!!) But now that Max and I are 27 and not the little naive 22-year-olds who started CMcare, I think the weight of that trust hits a little differently. Parents are trusting us and our team with their children, overseas, for days at a time with needs to be met. Maybe I’m just getting soft with age hahaha, but that means a lot and pushes us to continue

If we come back to our roots and remember why we started this whole thing in the first place. Maybe being 22 was actually perfect 🤣 Because this is the stuff you’re meant to do when you’re young. Save up. Go away with your mates. Try things you’ve never done. Come home with a million stories. And maybe 22-year-old Max and Courtney understood that better than anyone at the time. We weren’t trying to reinvent disability support. We just knew our guys deserved to do the same shit we dreamt of and were doing at the time!

I’d hate to be the one inside the ring with this crew 🥊😂

Watching how far they’ve come in these boxing sessions is unreal. Some started with little to no knowledge of the movements, and now they’re listening to commands, remembering sequences and following routines with confidence.

It might look like boxing, but they’re building so much more! focus, coordination, memory, discipline and the ability to follow instructions.

Huge progress, one combination at a time and of course epic music to fuel the sessions! 🥊🩵
