We have finally reached the 53s in Batangas Racing Circuit.

After 5 years of ownership, and three years of plateauing at the 56 and 57 mark due to less and less seat time, I have finally reached my initial target time.

The Toyota GR Yaris high ceiling of performance and potential made me lose confidence in my driver skill and capabilities, but I think my entry as a driver for Mazda Philippines MSCC Miata Spec Series, helped me find that drive again.

No performance modifications until we hit the 51s.

-Stock motor, Stock ECU (Eventuri Intake, and Akrapovic Exhaust)
-Endless MX72 brake pads and Ravenol R325+ brake fluid
-Stock suspension with Camber bolts
-Vitour Tempesta P1

Why have I gone so long without posting the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS?

First of all, i’m waiting for its 60th anniversary, and second, I needed time to really feel and live with, what they say is the quintessential sports car. The benchmark.

I was never a huge fan of 911s. I would usually turn down opinions of my die-hard Porsche friends, but the curiosity was always there. Lingering. Knocking on my doorstep. I had to get one.

This 992 generation 911 GTS is my gateway. It’s the car that will answer and continuously supply my insatiable curiosity.

A few months of living with the car, a couple of mountain passes and 3600kms later, I get what people are saying. It’s an amazing vehicle. The power, the sound, the usability. It’s amazing in every way. How the car rotates, and the ferocious surge of power getting out of the corner, all being done in a rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, which shouldn’t be making any sense. It’s an anti-thesis of sorts.

You feel like you are part of the car, and even in the most mundane of errands, it is unmatched by I think nearly any vehicle in the market available for sale right now.

This being a GTS, I think is the icing on top for me. Knowing myself, a huge part of vehicle ownership is the ability to use it in nearly any occasion. This 992 GTS is easy to drive, high enough for Metro Manila roads (especially with the front lift system), and an absolute blast for touring and twisties.

Thinking about it now, the GTS could not have come at a better time, especially with the 911s 60th anniversary.

Miata MSCC Spec Series Leg 2:

Car felt great this morning, suspension setup is excellent and braking felt confident.

Timed some great laps good for P6 at a lap time of 1:57.969 until I violated track limits 4 times at the last corner of BRC 🤣🤣

The group wanted a good drive after a week of doing car things in Osaka.

Took the GR Yaris out on a long drive again. Subtle driver focused updates along with the Vitour Tempesta P1 tires make for a fun drive.

@mid_night_new_wave (Hiroshi Tamura) who had his fingerprints all over the GT-R lineup is in town for Nissan Festival at Clark International Speedway. One of his final projects before he stepped down and became a Nissan Consultant is the latest RZ34 generation Nissan Fairlady Z.

Of course I had to get my car signed by the man himself!
