It’s International Self-Care Day and at CMHA Calgary we know that sometimes it is the little things we do that can make a big difference. Whether it’s journaling, taking a walk outside or connecting with a loved one, little acts of self-care can help us to take care of our mental health.

Today is Global Peer Support Celebration Day💚

This year’s theme is Peer Support Belongs Here, a reminder that peer support belongs in our communities and wherever people seek understanding, hope and connection.

Peer support is grounded in shared lived and living experience. Peer supporters walk alongside people, creating relationships built on mutual understanding, empowerment and hope.
Today, we celebrate peer support workers and the important role peer support plays right here in our community.

Why light the way? Because behind every statistic there is a story and a person.

For some, experiencing mental health challenges can make things feel unsteady, everything seems like an unknown, and it becomes hard to hold hope when the path ahead feels colourless.

But for many more then you may know that is reality. Whether it’s your neighbour, your sibling, a partner or child, a coworker or even just the person you passed on the street, sometimes the journey we can’t see is the one they need the most help with.

Today is World Mental Health Day 💙

Mental health is the driving force behind our run club. It’s about finding connection and addressing the loneliness that some of us may face and yes, it’s okay to not be ok. Thank you all so very much for joining us (it was a chilly one.. almost snowy one!). Please know that if you don’t have any family nearby this Thanksgiving weekend, we are your family!
