AHHHH—I’m featured in the Los Angeles Times’ Daily Pilot!!! 🥳📰💜 Seeing my journey as an author, publisher, and disability advocate shared in this way feels absolutely surreal. The article explores how my experiences inspired me to create children’s books centered on kindness, friendship, accessibility, and inclusion—and how that journey led to the creation of Purple Diamond Press. The feature includes beautiful photographs with my books, my sweet Teddy, and the two people who have supported me through everything: my parents. 🥹💜 Thank you to reporter Andrew Turner for thoughtfully sharing my story and photographer Eric Licas for capturing such special moments. I’m so excited to return to the Orange County Children’s Book Festival this Sunday! Thank you to everyone who continues to support me, my books, and this mission. Look what we did!!! 💜✨ 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Read the full feature through the link in my bio! #LosAngelesTimes #DailyPilot #CMHarris #PurpleDiamondPress #ChildrensBookAuthor @occhildrensbookfest @latimes @thedailypilot by @cmharrisbooks
🎉 A Major Milestone for Purple Diamond Press Seven years ago, Purple Diamond Press began with a vision — to publish meaningful, inclusive stories that make a difference. In 2020, we reached out to Independent Publishers Group. We were told not yet. So we kept going. Through hard work, dedication, commitment, growth, and faith, we continued building — expanding our catalog, growing our authors, and strengthening our mission. And today, we are incredibly proud to announce: Purple Diamond Press is now represented by Independent Publishers Group (IPG) — one of the largest distributors of independent publishers in the United States. This partnership marks a major milestone and allows our books to reach: 📚 Bookstores 📚 Libraries 📚 Schools 📚 Retailers 📚 Readers worldwide This moment represents 7 years of perseverance and belief in what we’re building. @cmharrisbooks we didn't give up 🙏🏽💎💜 I’m deeply grateful to our authors, readers, educators, and supporters who have been part of this journey. The next chapter begins now. 💜 Link 🔗 in Bio for Press Release 💎 #exciting #announcement #publishing #blackwomeninbusiness #womeninspiringwomen by @cmharrisbooks

💜 DISABILITY DOES NOT LIMIT OUR POTENTIAL. ACCESS CREATES OPPORTUNITY. What an incredible experience attending the first annual All Abilities Conference at Segerstrom Center for the Arts! @segerstromarts As an author, publisher, entrepreneur, and woman living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), I know firsthand how important accessibility, inclusion, and representation truly are. Through Purple Diamond Press, my mission has always been bigger than publishing books. It’s about creating stories that make a difference, challenging misconceptions, and ensuring that children of all abilities feel seen, valued, and empowered. Events like this remind me why advocacy matters and why we must continue creating spaces where everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and succeed. Inclusion should never be an afterthought. It should be the foundation. 📚 Here’s to continuing the conversation, breaking barriers, and building a more inclusive future for the next generation! 💬 What is one change you believe would make our schools and communities more accessible? #segerstromcenterofthearts #AccessibilityMatters #DisabilityAdvocacy #InclusiveEducation #DisabilityAwareness by @cmharrisbooks

📚💜 Books, cloudy weather, and a wonderful weekend in Pasadena! We had such a great time returning to one of our favorite markets, @the714market, and a new location for Books, Blooms & Broomsticks! 🍂 The rain held off (thankfully!), and we got to spend the day surrounded by local makers, wonderful families, and fellow book lovers. There’s something special about getting out into the community, meeting new readers, and sharing stories that make a difference. Every conversation and every book that finds a new home means so much! Happy 6th Birthday to my sweet Teddy! 🎂🐾💙 Teddy came into my life during one of the hardest moments. Just five days after my beloved Gareth passed away, I received Teddy. My heart was still hurting, and no dog could ever replace Gareth—but Teddy arrived at exactly the time I needed a new little companion to love. Over the past six years, he has filled my days with his own personality, companionship, laughter, and so many special memories. It’s amazing how much love these little four-legged family members bring into our lives. Happy 6th Birthday, Teddy! 🥳 You are loved more than you know, and I’m so grateful you came into my life when you did. Help me wish my birthday boy a very happy birthday! 🎈🐶🎁 #birthdayboy #dogsofinstagram #dogbirthday #teddy #adogisagirlsbestfriend by @cmharrisbooks
