As we honor our veterans this Veterans Day, I’m deeply reminded of the incredible sacrifices made by those who serve and have served our great nation. Words cannot fully express the gratitude we owe you. You gave your time, leaving behind family and friends—often for years—to protect our freedoms and defend others around the world. Many of you have endured loss, hardship, and the pain of saying goodbye to brothers and sisters in arms. Today, and every day, we thank you and your families for your courage, your service, and your unwavering dedication to our country.

Several people I know who served:
My Dad Jim, Bob’s Dad George, My Uncles Dave and Jim Marcum, my brother Rob and Mike, Joe Yoswa, Jason Marcum, Mike Madison and his brother Mitch, Great Uncle Wes. There are many others, thank you to all of you!

The first reading from today’s mass is poignant for this Holiday. Let us pray for those who have gone before us and for those veterans who are struggling to live each day.

A reading from the Book of
Wisdom 2:23–3:9

God formed man to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made him. But by the envy of the Devil, death entered the world, and they who are in his possession experience it.

But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction/ and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them/ and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.

In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble; They shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord shall be their King forever. Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with his elect.

Today is the eternal birthday of my Godfather and Uncle, Dan. He went home to God way too early for me and his family. May he be a strong intercessor for us in heaven.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Through the mercy of God may he rest in peace. Amen by @cmilam01

Happy birthday Dad!
Hey Pops,
I can't believe it's been over 20 years since you left this earth for your eternal home. You are missed greatly! Mom, Bob and I went golfing today in honor or you. We all played like crap but it was a nice day to be out. We have to keep positive like you. Golfing reminds me of you and the times we played, they were good times that I wish we could do together still but you are with us in spirit.

I am here to support human life from conception to natural death at the March for Life at Ave Maria University in Florida. It’s a beautiful day, not like my previous experiences in Minnesota for this event where it could be -5. Blessings and peace to all who are out there standing up for precious life. We all have a purpose here on earth and we are on this walk together through the good times and the bad. Let’s help those who are struggling, especially those in unplanned pregnancies, show them love by supporting them in their choice to chose life for their babies. Pray for those who think there is no way out but abortion and for all the lawmakers, that they enact laws that protect all human beings. taken in Ave Maria University - Tom Golisano Field House by @cmilam01
