POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hello!! I realized I’ve never done an in depth meet the author before! I had a lot of fun putting this together but I’m sure I still missed little tidbits about me.

I’m C.M. Kennedy (but you can call me Claire!), a paranormal, fantasy, and romance author. I am a twenty something Virgo from California. I love to read, bake, do puzzles, play video games, watch TV, etc etc. I have 3 pets and they are the best!! Swipe for some photos of them.

I currently have 3 self published books out. It is a completed paranormal thriller/mystery trilogy called BLOOD HUNTER. If you like vampires and crime solving duos then you will enjoy this series! I have a lot of projects planned now that the BH trilogy is complete, including a new urban fantasy novel which I am currently in the process of rewriting.

You can expect my books to have relatable main characters, mental health & neurodivergent rep, and most importantly: men who yearn 🤌

You may have noticed butterflies on the slides. I love butterflies and what they represent: hope and transformation. You can also expect those themes to show up in my writing.

I love to write. I’ve always loved to write. It makes me so happy when someone picks up one of my books and falls in love with it or feels seen in some way. Your support means everything to me!! 🫶 Here’s to many more stories to be shared 🥰

Hi all,

I will be taking an indefinite step back from social media to prioritize my mental health. I’ve been struggling a lot lately. This wasn’t an easy decision because I love connecting with all of you, but it is a necessary one.

I also need to focus on my writing. Hopefully I will return with a finished book and many more exciting announcements.

Take care of yourselves!

Millennial vs Gen Z marketing for Blood Hunter! Even though I am Gen Z I had a hard time with this 🙈 but it was fun to think of how different generations might pitch a book!

Why I’m scrapping my novel.

If you’ve been following me then I’m sure you’ve seen me promoting my next book: “TND”. I had finished the first draft back in October/November and spent the next several months rewriting. While I was initially happy with the story (I thought I would just magically fix everything during the editing process tbh), I started to grow more and more frustrated the longer I worked on it.

The story I had created was not what was in my head. While the power of editing can transform a dull first draft into a magical final version, I couldn’t find any way to do that with what I had written. There was not a good foundation for me to work with, which is essential in the writing process.

I strayed from the original vision in my head but now I’m back. I know what I want my book to look like, I know who my characters are, I know what they want. I am SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW VERSION!! I hope you stick around to see it ✨

*I’ve archived a lot of old posts about TND, including some artwork I had commissioned. I will be reposting those at a later time with updated info on the book!

Hi, I’m Claire! I’m a paranormal and fantasy author who loves to write neurodivergent characters and men who yearn. Twilight meets Veronica Mars in my completed paranormal thriller series featuring vampires, anxiety rep, and a slow burn romance. You’ll like it if you like:

🩸Mysterious, modern vampires and vampire groups à la The Lost Boys
🔪A mvrder mystery that will have you guessing until the end
❤️‍🩹A tender story of grief and healing
🌲Vibey PNW setting reminiscent of Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight (the blue filterrrr)
🦇A yearn-filled romance between a stubborn human and a tortured half vampire
🔎Reluctant partnership between said stubborn human and tortured half vampire with lots of banter
⛓️And of course they have to be in close proximity to solve this case…

Completed trilogy available now on KU or paperback 🥀

One year of Blood of Bellevue Manor 🖤🕯️🌲🌨️🩸

Happy one year to the second book in the Blood Hunter trilogy! I love all my books but I think I had the most fun while writing this one. I can’t believe it’s already been a year since it’s been out in the world 🥹

This book (to me) is all about Alex. It’s about confronting things we’d rather not revisit from our pasts and learning to give yourself some grace. It’s an interlude from the hustle and action of books one and three, transporting you and the characters to the sleepy, vampire inhabited town of Bellevue, Vermont. I love dark academia books and I had to incorporate elements of that into this one. Mysterious rooms, a charismatic professor, and a snowed in, isolated setting.

If you’ve read BOBM (or any of my books) please make sure to leave a review on the platform of your choice so it can reach more readers!

Thank you so much to anyone who has picked up my books. I know a few of you especially love this one and it makes me so happy 🫶

Start Alex and Juliette’s story with book one, BLOOD HUNTER

The author, the first page, the characters, the cover ✨

I think I’m late to this trend but I wanted to participate regardless! Apologies for the lack of posts this year. It’s honestly already flying by it seems 😬 and I have not got off to a great start. I’ve had some personal things going on and had really hoped to be finished with TND by now but that’s okay! I’m feeling inspired to pick it up again, and finish the last bit of writing before moving on to editing.

In more exciting news, I will be attending the Spring Book Festival in Irwindale, CA at the end of the month @springbookfestival . If you’re local make sure to stop by! I’m really looking forward to it and am hoping it will be a positive end to this quarter of the year.

The author: me!

The first chapter: prologue to the first book in my vampire mystery series, Blood Hunter

The characters: Alex and Juliette from Blood Hunter

The cover: the amazing cover designed by @novelandnavydesigns (I seriously can’t even count the number of times someone has complimented the cover of my books! Alex is incredible!)
