Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta today launched Delhi’s mission to eliminate dark spots, initiating the installation of 1 lakh smart LED streetlights across Assembly constituencies in the first phase under #SevaSankalpAbhiyan, from Andrews Ganj.

During her recent interaction with Delhi University students, concerns regarding dark spots and inadequate streetlighting were highlighted. Acting on feedback from the youth, the Delhi Government has taken concrete steps to address these concerns.

The initiative will improve illumination on roads and in public spaces, strengthen women’s safety and ensure safer mobility for all Delhiites.

The occasion was attended by MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, Cabinet Minister Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh, MLAs Shri Satish Upadhyay, Smt. Shikha Rai, Shri Anil Sharma and Shri Neeraj Basoya, District President Shri Ravindra Chaudhary and other dignitaries.

Our faith deserves respect, and Maa Yamuna deserves care.

Today, our government signed an MoU with MCD and Plastindia Foundation for the respectful collection and eco-friendly recycling of damaged idols and puja materials.

I appeal to all Delhiites to use designated collection centres rather than immersing sacred materials in the Yamuna.

Let us preserve the sanctity of our traditions and take collective responsibility for a cleaner Maa Yamuna.
