A cultural design studio for companies shaping arts, culture and technology. Our policy: design brands that make you feel.
POSTS STORIES REELS
@co.policy is a brand studio that has taken multiple shapes in five years, on purpose. Founded mid-pandemic by Adam Katz, it treats every client and brief as its own problem, with fluid roles across writing, strategy, design and motion. New industries are invited rather than avoided, and the studio works out where it is heading in public, in a Substack called Watercooler. ——— Read the interview at our link in bio. by @co.policy
@co.policy is a remote brand studio that’s built to keep becoming something else. Five years in, it has taken multiple shapes. Roles are fluid – designers take on writing, strategists tinker with design – and industries the studio has never worked in are actively pursued. In our interview, Founder & Creative Director Adam Katz and Director of Operations Nicole Banda talk through what five years of evolving has taught them, the Substack where the studio thinks out loud, and their direction for the next five. ——— Read the interview at our link in bio. by @co.policy
We're looking for designers of all levels who think in concepts, not just comps. You should be the kind of designer who gets bored by “safe.” Someone who’s as comfortable in a strategy deck as a Figma file. Bonus points if you’ve got opinions about where design and technology are headed, and the taste to back them up. The details: 📍 Remote, ET hours 🕐 Full-time 🎨 Conceptual, experimental, tech-forward designers wanted Deadline: October 24, 2026. To apply: send your portfolio to careers@companypolicy.studio Know someone who’d be great for this? Tag them. by @co.policy

Mochi Health treats the whole person, not just one concern. Their brand needed to reflect that sentiment. We started with strategy, then refreshed the visual direction around one idea: care for the complete you. Real, unstaged photography keeps it human. A color-coded system gives each category, from weight loss to skincare to hair, its own look inside one family. Strategy, brand refresh, and social ads for @joinmochi . Creative Direction: @katz.deli Project Management: @bbandaa Strategy and Copywriting: @lankedin Design: @_aitsmee, @annacherian_, @oliver.hilliker Mochi Health Team: James Lindsay, Ben Yamron, Amy Gaspardone, Himanshu Patil, Sara Yegan by @co.policy
A brief tells us what a brand thinks they need. It’s rarely the whole story. We treat every new client like a fresh course of study. It starts with a hypothesis, and a lot of questions we’re not afraid to ask twice. From there, the curriculum gets built layer by layer: the problem, pressure-tested; the solution, fine-tuned. Full breakdown of our process, featuring CMP (Customer Management Practice), Federato, Final Offer, Mochi Health, Backbone, and Emergence is now live on our Substack, Water Cooler. Most equity firms are branded like a closed system, we branded Emergence to be alive and open. We started with a question: what does compounding look like? Not shortcuts, not hype. A brand that grows outward the same way the business does; one relationship, one enterprise at a time to compound radical potential. The Emergence identity system pulls from natural branching structures: roots, growth patterns, ideas spreading outward from a single point. Deep green and cream instead of the fintech-default navy and black. A mark that reads as alive, not static and institutional yet conversational. We built patterns through a custom generative tool designed to fill compositions to their potential. A reminder that the strongest identities for “serious” categories don’t have to look serious to be taken seriously. Full case study coming soon. Visit the live site at emergence.com. Creative direction: @katz.deli Project management: @bbandaa Strategy: @snowbird.global Copywriting: @lankedin Design: @aidensymes , @matt_in_black , @lyydiakim Motion: @oliver.hilliker Development: @samcharpentier Emergence Team: Henry Zhang, Akash Lohumi, @davidmcg by @co.policy
Designing for emotion in a category obsessed with features. For Unify, @co.policy took a different approach. Rather than competing on product capabilities, they positioned the brand around what customers actually care about: connection, clarity and impact. The result is an identity that feels human, confident and full of momentum. Bold colour, direct messaging and a visual system built to move, prove that B2B brands don't have to sacrifice personality to earn trust. A reminder that the strongest identities aren't always the loudest: they're the ones with the clearest point of view. — Want to share your work with our community? @co.policy is a remote brand studio with a deliberately amorphous structure, letting it evolve as its clients and interests do. ——— Read the interview at our link in bio. by @co.policy
Our latest Out of Office guide is here. This time, we’re highlighting a city many on our team call home: New York. Swipe through for our recs on things to do across arts, culture, entertainment and food in our beloved NYC, and read more about each below. 1) @printedmatterinc: This Chelsea institution has been the artist’s-book bible since ‘76, over 15,000 titles deep. Go for the zines, stay for the NY Art Book Fair energy year-round. 2) @parkatkims: Korean specialty coffee on the Nolita/Chinatown border. The pour-overs are meticulous, the space is all blond wood and vintage lighting, and yes, get the doenjang jambon beurre. 3) @cellarthirtysix: Walk-ins only, LES natural wine and small plates. $1 oysters and $20 carafes 5-7pm daily…no notes. 4) @otherpeoplesclothes.shop: Curated thrift heaven across Union Sq, Williamsburg, Bushwick and Ridgewood. Designer finds mixed with the going-out pieces you didn’t know you needed. 5) @historicgreenwood: Not your average cemetery. This National Historic Landmark and arboretum inspired Central Park’s design. Tours, art installations, and one of the most underrated places to walk in Brooklyn. 6) @casamagazinesnyc: West Village magazine mecca, 2,500+ titles deep, plus a coffee bar next door now. A downtown institution since the ‘90s. 7) @nublunyc: East Village jazz club with roots in the “Nublu sound”: cross-cultural, late-night, freewheeling jam sessions since 2002. 8) @diaartfoundation: Go see the New York Earth Room in SoHo (commissioned and maintained by Dia Art Foundation). 250 cubic yards of dirt, 3,600 square feet, unchanged since 1977 by Walter De Maria. Free admission, open Wed–Sun. 9) @syndicatedbk: Bushwick’s bar/theater/kitchen. Catch a movie, grab the wings, stay for trivia night. recs by: @katz.deli, @lyydiakim, @ktmacey_design, @lankedin #nycguide by @co.policy
Inspiration shouldn’t die in the group chat. Before Water Cooler was a Substack, it was a Slack channel: #water-cooler, where our team actually talks. Not about deliverables or deadlines, but whatever’s caught someone’s attention that day. A Munch painting. A quilt block. An album rediscovered. None of it maps cleanly onto a client brief. All of it ends up in the work anyway. Swipe through for a look at how references move from Slack to shipped, and read the full piece on our Substack (link in bio). by @co.policy
New site, same policy. 📍 We just launched a refreshed website, built to feel less like a portfolio and more like the studio itself: a visual archive of our work, our thinking, our point of view on where design and culture are headed. Take a scroll: companypolicy.studio (link in bio) by @co.policy
