I wanted to give you a real peek at what coaching with me looks like because how you’re supported matters just as much as the plan itself. These are the values I bring to every athlete I work with, whether we’re building toward a first half / marathon or chasing a better second one.

If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, send me a message and let’s chat šŸ’• by @coach.jocelyn

These might be the facts… but the story is more interesting.

This is where it started: buried in diapers, thinking about a start line.

No, the guilt hasn’t gone away. I just learned how to quiet it down.

This is me now: grey hair earned and still doing the work.

Welcome to Steady State Endurance. I’m Jocelyn- AT, run coach & mom of three. šŸ’• Really glad you’re here. by @coach.jocelyn

Running should make your life better, not run it. That’s the whole idea behind coaching with Steady State Endurance.

I bring 20 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Therapist into every plan I write, which means your training accounts for what’s actually happening in your body, not just the number of weeks until race day. Progress that lasts matters more to me than progress that burns you out.

Whether it’s your first marathon, you’re chasing a half marathon PB, or you’re coming back from injury, your plan is built around your life, not the other way around.

If you’re curious whether coaching is the right fit, send me a DM or head to the link in my bio to learn more about how we could work together. by @coach.jocelyn

Last one in the series, and it’s the lie I hear the most!

You don’t have to be elite to deserve a coach, you just have to be tired of carrying every decision yourself. I hired one for exactly that reason, and it’s been one of the best things I’ve done for my running.

So tell me, what lies did I miss? Drop your favourites in the comments šŸ‘‡ by @coach.jocelyn

Turns out the best therapy is a few easy kilometres with good people and a cold one waiting at the end šŸ»

Weekly group runs at BORN Brewing are wrapping up for the season on October 29, but we’ll keep the crew together with a monthly run all winter long.

Race season has me feeling all the feelings 🄹

I love a good finish time as much as anyone, but the part of training I’m most proud of for my athletes is everything that happens along the way. The early mornings, the trust they build in their own bodies, and the way they start showing up for themselves in the rest of their lives too.

If you’re dreaming about a marathon and wondering if someone like you can really do it, send me a message. I’d love to hear your why. šŸ’• by @coach.jocelyn

Steady State athletes lined up literally from coast to coast yesterday.

In Victoria, Jessica lined up for her first marathon with an amazing support crew cheering her on. She balanced work, school, and other activities that brought her joy this year and toed the line ready for her marathon debut. She said the last 4km were INTENSE but she didn’t give up. CONGRATULATIONS Jessi on a milestone accomplishment

Also in Victoria, Amber & Geoff took on the half marathon- both executing their fuelling and pacing plans to a tee. Both are busy professionals raising families, but still want to chase their own goals. Congrats to both of you on a well deserved finish!

Finally in Nova Scotia, Mike toed the line at the Valley Harvest 10k with the goal of breaking 40 mins in his first 10k race. It’s been a real change in his training this summer as he pivoted from ultra running to a fast road race. He’s got speed in those legs, finishing in just over 38 minutes- an incredible debut at this distance.

CONGRATS to all of you!! by @coach.jocelyn

Running mechanics post op: what my PT sees vs. what it feels like in my brain šŸ’ƒ

I’m a few months into retraining how I move, & I still feel completely ridiculous every single time. In my head I’m strutting down a runway, but on video it just looks like normal movement!

It’s been such a good reminder that new movement patterns always feel exaggerated long before they feel natural. If you’re working on changing something in your running and it feels awkward, that usually means you’re doing it right. Thankfully our brain catches up eventually.

Anyone else feel like a fashion model doing their drills? šŸ‘‡šŸ»it can’t just be me…) by @coach.jocelyn

Last week you hit every run, and this week there’s a sick kid, a work deadline and a practice that got moved,… and somehow you feel like you’re the one who’s failing.

Please know your training is allowed to bend with the week you’re actually having. šŸ’ž by @coach.jocelyn

When Taylor was ~12, she wrote ā€œrun a marathonā€ on her bucket list, and then spent years believing it would always be beyond her reach because she never felt like a runner.

She crossed that one off on her 27th birthday, and what she has to say about what it changed for her is so much bigger than a finish line. I’m not going to spoil it for you, so swipe through and read it in her own words!

What I will tell you is what came next. Taylor kept showing up, started signing up for shorter distances to see what she was truly capable of, and at the Calgary Police Classic she took the pressure off and ran a huge half marathon PB. As she puts it, ā€œthe more I lean into this confidence and take the pressure off of my races, the better my times have become.ā€

Taylor, it has been such a joy to watch you figure out just how strong you are, and I am so proud to be your coach (friend) šŸ’• by @coach.jocelyn

This list is a whole lot of me, and a whole lot of the athletes I get to coach šŸ’•

I started running in 2013 when my second son was one, and I know what it feels like to squeeze training into the corners of a very full life while wondering if you’re doing any of it right.

You carry so much already so let me carry the training decisions for you. If you’ve got a marathon or half marathon behind you and a feeling that there’s a better race in you, send me a message and we’ll chat about what that could look like. by @coach.jocelyn
