¡BC Summer Provincials 2026!.I love coaching provincials so so so much. This summer marks just over 7 years as Head Coach of PSW, the club I had the privilege of growing up with. Not very many people have the opportunity to lead the program that gave them all the opportunities this sport has to offer. I am very honoured to have been with this team for the past 24 seasons..And. This. Is. Just. The. Beginning..2nd overall at the meet is cool. Coaching boys to 4 for 4 for the 15-17 relays at the meet is cool. Having kids attend their first provincials is cool. Having kids make their first provincial final is cool. Having kids get their first provincial medal is cool. Having swimmers get inspired by watching their teammates race is cool. Getting to be just a tiny part of each of these athletes lives is the coolest.. So very very proud of this team 💛 🖤 💛 by @coach.jy

2026 Canadian Swimming Trials.Took 10 athletes to Montreal to race against the best in the country with the help of the travelling emotional support dumplings.Number of second swims: 15.Number of medals: 5.Number of provincial records: 5.Number of national records: 1.Number of Schwartz visits: 1 (I am also disappointed in this).Number of times Tim was late: ♾️ .Number of world records witnessed: 1.Number of swimmers who chose to walk in their fins all the way across the training pool deck: 4 🙄 .Very honoured to have been named to the @swimmingcanada Para Pan Pacific team along with @maryjibb and @sebmassabie .Montreal you did not disappoint 👌🏼 by @coach.jy

🇦🇺 Gold Coast 2026 🇦🇺.Outdoor racing 2.5 years out from the 2028 Paralympics in LA.More wild bird life than I could imagine (trash but make it chic?).Flat whites ALL DAY.Kangaroo fields.Boardwalk adventures - snacks - beach sunrise.Frickin’ Bats. by @coach.jy

🇸🇬 2025 World Para Championships 🇸🇬.Such an amazing opportunity this year to get to represent Canada at my first Para Worlds!.Continuing to get to do what I love with a group of incredible athletes and staff feels very surreal and repeatedly over this trip I had to pinch myself to see if it was real!.Sebastian, Mary and I left Vancouver on September 7th and came home with a gold medal, two bronze medals, 5 Canadian Records and our first World Championships for all 3 of us under our belt 3 weeks later on September 29th..This trip included:- a beautiful sunset at our staging in Thailand- a training group with the best sense of humour around (Thank you all for sharing in my interest of weird foreign food and constant laughter)- the best practical joke on @fnando_lu that I planned for way too long and maybe had laughed about for 2 months before it happened- Singapore pool + 6am run club flower pic- amazing photos of me while on deck (as per usual)- RAMEN (I had an addiction before, but it is much worse now)- story time - trying to play kids games (unsuccessfully)- Gardens By the Bay- 🐘 - scale of death- @maryjibb World. Freaking. Champion..There was a hashtag that was popular around 2016 (how was that 9 years ago 👀) that is how I feel about all of this #JobLove by @coach.jy

🇨🇦 Canada Games 2025 🇨🇦 .Had the most fun again at my second Canada Games! Thank you to all athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff that made this event so exceptional!.Didn’t manage to get a photo with my coaching group, but I do know we had the most fun and if there had been a photo you better believe we would have all been laughing.Definitely participated in the unofficial sport of pin trading (and successfully traded for the Quebec 1/4 zip) - and of course I came home with multiple sparkling and moving pins.Kissed the Cod and am an honorary Newfoundlander 🐟 .And while my Team BC Nails crushed it I’m not sure if they outdid @swim_coachemma - she might have taken the win.Although I could have done without the constant wind and less than desirable pillows I did love the jellybean houses and Canada Games is still my favourite event that I have had the opportunity to coach at! by @coach.jy

Inaugural Grand Prix du Quebec.Took 7 swimmers across the country to swim outdoors in my favourite pool in Canada.Complete with 3 fire alarms, the best smoked meat in the world, an exceptionally run meet, some very fast swimming and definitely ZERO laughs during meal times.Could not have done this one without @reeseblunden on her first Team Manager role and she KILLED IT.PSW nails on point 💅 .Bam, bam, bam, Barcelona! 🇪🇸 by @coach.jy

Trials 2025 Recap (better late than never).PSW had 7 athletes attend which is the largest number in the last 23 years (maybe ever).Got to watch summer break more World Records.PSW named two athletes and myself to the Para Worlds Team 🌍 .@72theking caught me on camera coaching - once looking nice and professional and once probably how I look 99% of the time 😆 .I got to see wildlife outside the Airbnb we stayed at 🐰 .Next up a summer of travel! by @coach.jy

Fran Crippen Memorial SMOC 2025.Spent the last week in California at one of my favourite meets I attended as a swimmer…but the last time I was there I was swimming, and so was Kosuke Kitajima so it’s been a couple years….Should PSW relocated to California or what..? 🤔 by @coach.jy
