It seems fitting that I waited to make this post on Thanksgiving, which happens to also be Match Day -1.

I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to lead the American Samoa national team in @ofcfootball World Cup Qualifying.

It’s an incredible honor to be involved in a World Cup on any level. We know this is a chance to make history and that we have a unique opportunity to chase a big dream.

I am eternally grateful for @footballamericansamoa and all the amazing people behind the scenes working tirelessly to give us this opportunity.

My love for the beautiful gave has been renewed because of these players and this federation. Tomorrow, we take the field vs Tonga but the journey started months ago. I couldn’t have done this without my management team or my staff. I am so proud of my coaches and so very fortunate that @danicolorado @omarzeenni and Molly said yes to this adventure. (And, of course, there is a Molly with me).

We hope to make the country proud. Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Dad,

It’s been a year since you left this earth and what a year it has been. I really miss you. In many ways I’d been missing you for years while dementia took its toll. I often wish for one last conversation and I wonder how you’d be advocating for me. What would you know and share with me?

You would know that the truth is revealed at the right time.
You would know to be fair and just.
You would know to remind me to rethink and reframe.
You would know that perspectives were lost in the mix of insecurities.
You would know that misguided minds can be in the right heart space.
You would know that decisions are hard but the makers must stand behind them.
You would know that sometimes life-changing passion comes after persistence.
You would know that the strongest convictions require more questions.
You would know that loyalty is lost on some and a saving grace for others.
You would know that forgiveness frees even the most shattered heart.
You would know that in the darkest of times friends become family and family provide the light.
You would know to count our blessings especially when the world shrinks
You would know to remember all the lessons and embrace being a teacher
You would know to adventure in God’s majesty and receive all the gifts.
You would know that my power lies within.
You would know that I will be whole again.

My sweet Molly,

I’m still at a loss for words that can even come close to describe what you mean to me. There’s an overwhelming amount of memories flowing through my mind and all of the deepest human emotions swirling through my heart.

All I’m ready to say now is thank you.

Thank you for welcoming me into your family with all your love.
Thank you for being my favorite Cromwell (besides your daughter of course).
Thank you for moving to this coast and making it home.
Thank you for being everything we didn’t know we needed.
Thank you for co-creating the most beautiful community around us.
Thank you for showing me the power of presence.
Thank you for teaching me that all we need is love.
Thank you for reminding me to make every moment count.

It’s hard to move past the void of your physical presence in our lives as we were deeply woven together in each moment, but in between the hurt I feel your eternal spirit, powerful love, and contagious laugh surrounding us.

Not many people around the world know about the run another small island made in World Cup qualifying. After never winning a qualifying match, this team and staff almost pulled off the impossible. We were one win away from a 10 team playoff for 3 spots for the World Cup in Brazil 2027. We defied odds by advancing through 2 stages and lost in the semis 1-0 to a very good @pngfootballassociation side. After all is said and done we climbed 33 spots in the @fifa rankings in less than 6 months. The future of @footballamericansamoa is bright because of the people, the culture of gratitude and because of what we’ve witnessed in this men’s World Cup. Anything can happen if you believe, that is why this game is so beautiful. by @coach_cromwell

How sweet it was and is to be loved by you Dad. I had the blessing of a lifetime of your love and support and I know you are somehow still advocating for me and women’s sports. You would love watching the MNT do their thing in this World Cup but even more you would have fallen in love with the people of @footballamericansamoa during our historic qualifying run. 🇦🇸

Em,
I’m so proud of you, for so many reasons. You are such a caring soul with so much love for everyone.
The baby of my nieces and nephews you have so much life ahead of you. This graduation trip was filled with so much activity but above all it was filled with love, laughter and so many street tacos! I’m forever honored to be your Auntie and I cannot wait to watch you play college soccer and crush it in school.
