It’s been a pretty surreal year, that’s for sure.

Being asked to speak at the @bafcaofficial Coaching Convention, followed by being nominated for Flag Coach of the Year, has given me a chance to reflect on what has been an incredible 12 months.

Today was another great day of learning, sharing ideas, and trying to become a better coach. That’s what it’s all about.

I still have to pinch myself when I look back at everything this year has brought:

🏆 National Championship
🌍 World Championships
🇬🇧 Great Britain U17 Head Coach

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Now it’s time to keep learning, keep improving, and hopefully make 2026, even better than 2025. by @coach_mikemc

Sometimes in life you get a proper pinch yourself moment.

Saturday was that for me.

Being named Head Coach for the GB U17 Boys flag team was never on my bingo card. Not even close.

But the chance to coach future Olympic athletes is an opportunity you simply do not turn down.

Honestly, one of the best days I have ever had on a football field.

Grateful. Proud. Fired up for what’s next.

We are pleased to announce that our National Championship Bombers u17 have been invited to Florida to compete in the @flagfootballworldchampionships in Orlando. We will be at the competing at the @espn wide world of sports complex in February 2026!

A once in a lifetime opportunity to chase the dream of being the best in the world! 🌎

🗣️Announcement🗣️

After some hard fought negotiations and heated debates between our lawyers, @elite5sfootball and @mmcgougan77 have come to an agreement that he will take ownership of the Elite5s Royals franchise and rebrand them as the Elite5s UNCs.

The UNCs will be using our supplier @arrivalathletic to produce the franchise merchandise and in return will receive priority entry into all tournaments going forwards as well as a seat at the table when refining the future tournament structure and game format.

When asked for comment on the earth shattering deal, @mmcgougan77 had the following to say:

“I can’t believe it. I legally own @_samfossey now. This cost me fuck all.”

The Royals jerseys will be kept in our vault and used again should the UNCs not wish to enter into any future tournaments.

Long soppy post alert!

I can’t believe how far you have come kid in such a short period of time!

You had some big set backs and decisions this year kid, but you really put yourself on the map.

It would have been easy to stay at u14’s or wallow after missing out on GB. But you didn’t you stepped up and not only took part, but took over at u17’s…. AS A 14 YEAR OLD!

I’m almost certain this will be a record breaking year, I would be my mortgage on the fact no 14 year old has ever guided their u17 team to a national championship!

None of it phased you, you was unreal all season, calm, composed and throwing for 5TDs and a receiving TD in a national final is nothing short of sensational!

24-0 in all competitive games, close to 100 TD’s - just unreal!

I am so proud and I want everyone to know it!

Great job @evan_qb12, our little record setter! You have done me and your mum @beckieday88 proud! 🥹😊🥲

Well, words escape me. We bloody did it.

Thousands of hours of preparation. Hundreds of hours of training.
682 points scored. 200 points conceded.
And one very, very sweet National Championship. 🏆

I am unbelievably proud of this group. We had a turbulent start to the season, but we never let it define us. We had one goal. We made a promise to ourselves. We committed to becoming #CHAMPS — and we manifested it all year.

Yesterday, we made it our reality. It was emotional, it was electric, and it was all worth it.

Now a little time with family before we regroup and run it back.

This is just the start. From now on we are the hunted… and perfection never stops. 💣

This has been my best year in American football because of this team and this club.

It’s been a long season. Hundreds of hours of preparation, countless miles, and so many sacrifices from players, parents and coaches. Every bit of it has been worth it.

From the very first session we set our sights on a goal and we have never wavered. The hard work, the commitment and the belief have brought us to tomorrow.

I could not be prouder of this group, not just as players but as people.

Now it is time to finish what we started. Everything we need is already in us!

Really great way to finish the regular season. Absolutely amazing season so far, but the hard work begins now.

Over 500 points #1 offence in the country and over 1000 points in competitive games this year!

Northern Champs, MEC Champs, Division Winners… onto finals.
