NATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY and I am on the yard finally as the Navy Women’s NCAA/Varsity Coach.

Shouts to a few of the women in my life and a few of the bad-ass women I have been privileged to Coach. #nationalwomensday #triathlon @usatriathlon

In honor of the many women and girls in sport. It is a privilege to have worked with and been influenced by so many. To see how they continue to grow from sport is to understand the reason we must continue to push for more opportunities. May I continue to have this honor as a coach and father and husband.

This a mere snapshot of those women. #girlsinsport #womeninsport #triathlon #running #gonavy @billythekidtri by @coachbillythekid

In the spring of 2019, Maggie @maggs.mclaughlin asked me what I thought about her racing SuperFrog 70.3 and maybe qualifying for the Ironman World Champs. I told her if she was willing to put in the work and focus on her execution, there was definitely a chance. The first step was just signing up.

Maggie is one of my USNA athletes, who due to a bike crash and just needing more time or the right event still had more to find in triathlon post-USNA. During her time as a SWO, she has qualified and tomorrow will toe the line in Kona. As a coach, it has been a privilege to assist her on this journey. It makes me so happy for you to go from that spring ride in 2017 to the pier in Kona. Maggie, we will be tracking #1300 all day and can’t wait to see you online when you run down Ali’i Drive tomorrow night. #WOHO #gonavy @billythekidtri taken in IRONMAN World Championship by @coachbillythekid

Making the connection …@elise.cranny visited her elementary school and inspire 180 kids with her presence and got inspired by those same kids. The kids and Elise had matching smiles as they recognized their similarities- the simple joy of running around and a field in the beautiful ColoRADo morning. Thanks Elise for dropping by @100mileclub Niwot; you are doing so much for your little community #NIWOT

Privileged to work with these two humble beasts @bmooney89 and @d_frease who will surely be in the mix as they have been all year. It’s just another race, but with more guys to hunt down or keep in your rearview mirror. #703worldchampionship #runlikejordan #droftri taken in St. George, Utah by @coachbillythekid

Congrats to Adam on his 4th overall win of 2021. This recent @navytri Team Captain is honing his craft even after tossing his cover in May.
.

One of the biggest coaching disappointments in the Covid era was not seeing this guy @stroff_17 get to compete in championships in 2020/21. He is now on a killer overall winning streak. The next couple stops on the STROFF-train will be championship level events. Building the speed as we approach those races.

Bryan Mooney with his first AG OVERALL win at a 70.3. He dropped another super fast run in the 74s to take the win by ONE second.

I don’t spend enough time giving my athletes credit. This one is special since we have been on this journey about 3 years now. Lots of good and great results but really cool to a get a really great one. Lots more to do.

This is my 13th season with @navytri and it is testing me. Big secret, I don’t live in Annapolis. Without a trip to see them and no races, it has been tough to keep us all motivated. Thankfully, we got inspired by @cal_triathlon Coach Dean’s 5k run and 500yd challenge. It is a different path for our journey to @usatriathlon nationals in April. The team is strong right now- strong as a TEAM! We will be better athletes and a better team and they will be more prepared as leaders. I can press on as the coach when I see things like this photo and the 5000m results we threw down today. Great EXECUTION #WOHO Team.

Sept 11, 2011. It was not a great race for me but there is so much more to life than that. I will always remember to fight or race or work towards something greater than myself. #USA #patriot #redwhiteblue #alwaysremember #neverforget by @coachbillythekid

No number, no problem! We are racing! Congrats to Ricky for a huge 13.1 mile PR also in the LT MICHAEL MURPHY fundraiser half marathon. He along with many others in the crew and WOHO (USNA Tri) family will take on the 5km Challenge this weekend. We will post winners and over achievers. by @coachbillythekid

Two weeks ago Patrick of @colorado0526 and I had to sit back and navigate these buffalo. This looks very much like how coaching for sport is going this year.
