I first came across this quote when I was 25, at a moment when I was living comfortably but not fully.

Shaw wrote this in 1921. A hundred years later, it’s still the most honest answer I’ve found to the question most of us are quietly avoiding: Am I actually living, or just moving through it?

The line that gets me every time — “the harder I work, the more I live.” Not harder as in longer hours. Harder as in more fully. More on purpose. More in service of something that actually matters to you.

The opposite of that isn’t laziness. It’s drift. It’s the feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances — complaints about a life you never designed.

Most people I work with aren’t failing. They’re just not fully alive in what they’re doing.

Swipe through the full quote. Then ask yourself: what would it mean to be thoroughly used up? by @coachchras
