Want to lose body fat? Start with this simple daily habit. 🚶‍♂️

Walking for just 10 minutes after a meal can help your body manage blood sugar and increase your daily calorie expenditure.

Here’s how to make it work for you:

✅ Walk for 10 minutes after meals.
✅ Build up your daily steps.
✅ Track your calorie intake.
✅ Maintain a consistent calorie deficit.

Walking alone won’t guarantee fat loss, but combined with the right nutrition and consistency, it can be a powerful tool.

You don’t need to make things complicated. You need habits you can repeat.

Small actions. Consistent effort. Real progress.

Save this as a reminder to take a walk after your next meal. 👊

How many calories do 5,000 steps actually burn?

Here’s what most people forget: your body weight and walking pace make a difference.

For someone weighing around 60 kilos, 5,000 steps might burn roughly 150 to 220 calories.

At 70 kilos, it could be around 180 to 250.

At 80 kilos, roughly 200 to 300 calories.

But these are estimates, not exact numbers. Your stride length, speed, terrain, and how your body moves all affect the result.

And here’s the important part: 5,000 steps isn’t a magic number.

If you consistently walk more throughout the day, you can increase your daily energy expenditure without adding another hard workout.

So don’t focus on one walk. Focus on how much you move across the entire day.

🔥 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BURN 500 CALORIES?

It depends on your body weight, the activity you choose, and how intensely you train.

Here are some rough estimates for different body weights:

🚶 FAST WALKING

50 kg: around 2.5 hours
60 kg: around 2 hours
70 kg: around 1 hour 45 minutes
80 kg: around 1 hour 30 minutes

🏃 RUNNING

50 kg: around 60–70 minutes
60 kg: around 50–60 minutes
70 kg: around 45–50 minutes
80 kg: around 40–45 minutes

🚴 CYCLING

50 kg: around 75–100 minutes
60 kg: around 60–90 minutes
70 kg: around 50–75 minutes
80 kg: around 45–65 minutes

🏋️ STRENGTH TRAINING
This is harder to estimate because rest periods, exercise selection, and training intensity make a big difference. It can take well over an hour, and sometimes considerably longer.

⚠️ These are rough estimates, not guarantees. Actual calorie expenditure varies with pace, intensity, fitness, and individual differences.

And remember: you don’t need to burn 500 calories in one workout to make progress. Consistency with your training, daily movement, and nutrition matters most.

Which activity do you prefer? 👇

Do two people burn the same calories walking 10,000 steps?

No — and here’s why.

Body weight matters. A heavier person generally uses more energy to move the same distance.

But walking speed, hills, and stride length can also affect energy expenditure.

And here’s something important: 10,000 steps doesn’t represent exactly the same distance for everyone.

So if your fitness watch says you burned 400 calories, treat that number as an estimate, not an exact measurement.

Focus on your overall activity and your progress over time.

What happens if you walk 10,000 steps every day?

You increase daily energy expenditure, which can support fat loss if your overall calorie balance allows it.

Walking also challenges your cardiovascular system and is linked to better long-term health.

But you don’t need exactly 10,000 steps to benefit. A 2025 systematic review in The Lancet Public Health found that around 7,000 daily steps was associated with meaningful health benefits compared with 2,000.

Start at your current activity level, build gradually, and make movement a regular habit.

Does walking uphill burn more calories? ⛰️

Yes — because your body has to work against gravity.

Walking uphill increases the energy your muscles need to move your body upward. Your oxygen consumption rises, and your heart has to work harder.

The best part? You can increase the intensity of your walk without having to run.

So next time you go for a walk, find a hill or add an incline to the treadmill.

Small changes. More work. Better habits.

Make every step count.

HOW MANY CALORIES DO YOU BURN WALKING FOR 1 HOUR?

Walking for one hour can burn a meaningful amount of energy.

At a brisk pace, roughly:

60 kg → 290 calories
70 kg → 335 calories
80 kg → 385 calories
90 kg → 430 calories

These are estimates. Your actual calorie burn depends on your body weight, walking speed and terrain.

Walking also helps you increase your daily movement without the impact of running.

If your goal is to lose body fat, remember: your overall calorie balance matters, too.

Walk more. Stay consistent. Let it add up.

HOW MANY CALORIES DO YOU BURN WALKING FOR 30 MINUTES?

Walking for 30 minutes can burn more calories than you might think.

At a brisk pace, roughly:

60 kg → 145 calories
70 kg → 170 calories
80 kg → 190 calories
90 kg → 215 calories

These are estimates. Your actual calorie burn depends on your body weight, walking speed and terrain.

And remember: you don’t have to do everything at once.

30 minutes today.
30 minutes tomorrow.
30 minutes the day after.

It adds up.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WALK FOR 1 HOUR?

Kortare, renare och lättare att läsa snabbt.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BODY WHEN YOU WALK FOR ONE HOUR?

Walking might not feel like a hard workout, but your body is still doing a lot of work.

Your heart rate increases.
Your muscles use more oxygen and energy.
You burn calories.
You get aerobic exercise.
And regular walking can support cardiovascular fitness, blood pressure and overall health.

Even one session of aerobic exercise can have a positive effect on mood.

And when you make walking a regular habit, those hours add up.

You don’t always need to destroy yourself in the gym to improve your health.

Sometimes, you just need to walk.

One hour.
One day at a time.

HOW MANY STEPS DOES IT TAKE TO BURN 500 CALORIES?

There isn’t one exact number.

Your body weight, walking speed, step length and terrain all affect how many calories you burn.

As a rough estimate, a person weighing around 60 kg might need around 14,000–15,000 steps, while a person weighing around 80 kg might need around 10,000–12,000 steps to burn around 500 calories when walking at a brisk pace.

But remember: 10,000 steps doesn’t automatically mean you’ve burned 500 calories.

Your body weight matters.
Your pace matters.
Your step length matters.

And if your goal is fat loss, don’t just focus on how many calories you burn.

Pay attention to how much you eat, how much you move, and what you do consistently over time.

I’ve decided to do online coaching differently.

For a long time, the model was simple:

12 weeks.
Big commitment.
Pay upfront.

But I’ve changed my mind.

I want to make coaching more accessible — without the pressure of a big upfront commitment.

So from now on, online coaching starts from $59/week.

You start.
You get a clear plan.
You get coached.
You put in the work.
You track your progress.

And then you decide where you want to take it.

No pressure. No unnecessary long-term commitment.

And I’m not speaking about transformation from the outside.

The transformation photos in this post are me — 2018 → 2026.

Years of training, learning, adjusting, failing, improving and staying consistent.

I’ve built my own body through the same process I now help others navigate.

You get:

• Personalized training
• Nutrition & calorie guidance
• Progress tracking & accountability
• 1:1 coaching & support
• Identity & mindset coaching

The goal isn’t just to change your body.
It’s to build the habits, discipline and identity that make the change last.

Starting from $59/week.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BURN 500 CALORIES?

How long does it take to burn 500 calories?

It depends on your body weight, the activity and how hard you’re working.

For an 80 kg person, roughly:

Fast walking: ~1h 15 min
Running: ~40 min
Cycling: ~55 min
Weight training, 8–15 reps with varied resistance: ~1h 40 min
Vigorous weight training/bodybuilding: ~1h

For a 60 kg person, the same activities would take longer because a lighter person generally burns fewer calories per minute.

These are estimates based on MET values from the 2024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities.

And here’s something worth remembering:

You can eat 500 calories much faster than you can burn them.

That’s why fat loss isn’t just about exercise.

Your food intake, daily movement, training and consistency all matter.

Know your numbers. Stay consistent.
