Imagine walking into the GARDEN ! The MECCA of basketball wit a team who’s tryna find their identity with 7 freshman and about 4 vets with me as the loan senior ! Bright lights beaming down the floor and all you can see is the floor and your bench. You can’t see in the stands cause the crowd lights is turned down. Facing off against the #11 team in the nation at the time with close to 8k people cheering majority of which for Marquette! No grater feeling then coming in and competing as the under dog ! Man basketball has allowed me to be around, play against, workout with , gain knowledge from so many great players ! I’m able to say that I had one of my best games in my career on the best stage in all of basketball! Young hoopers live in the moment and soak in every bit of knowledge, every bit of the experience ! Stay confident at all times and know you’re their for a reason! Take advantage of the people you have in your circle, push them and let them push you to greater heights mentally physically and spiritually 💯. We lost this game cause #JaeCrowder hit a corner three and I’ll admit it was my fault 🤦🏿‍♂️ I didn’t stay attached to the hip sorry @30dezz lol #insider … but man what a time and opportunity to be in the game all the way down to the wire wit a stacked Marquette team on ESPN with #DickVitale and #JayBilas covering your game 😫 bruh league or no league I took advantage of being able to play a game with a orange ball 🏀 and round hoop 💯 God is Good #huskybasketball #UWMBB #ballislife by @coachdg_44

Happy birthday to the best thing that ever happened to me ! I thank God for you every single day! Thank you for always being my rock . Thank you for always being in my corner. I’m so grateful for our family ! I’m thankful for our friendship but I’m most thankful for our relationship. We’ve always had strong connection but it’s crazy that 18 years later the love we have has never wavered ! I had to learn this the hard way… being GOOD isn’t what separates you—being ELITE at something does.

When I got to college, I realized real quick: everybody was good. Everybody was talented. Everybody had stats in high school.

But not everybody was elite.

There were things I did well—defending multiple positions, making timely plays, bringing energy, sacrificing for the team. That kept me on the floor.

But I also had areas that needed real work. And the difference between where I was and where I wanted to be?
Time. Reps. Obsession with the craft.

A lot of players think coaches are “hating” when they tell you the truth.

They’re not.

Coaches are trying to push you past your comfort zone.
They’re trying to get you to a level you haven’t reached yet.
And most importantly—they’re trying to win.

Why would a coach waste time hating on someone who can help them win?

That feedback you don’t like?
That’s the gap between good and elite.

I had to look at my own journey—from college to overseas—and be honest:
Where did I improve?
What did I do well?
Where did I fall short?

Because growth only happens when you stop lying to yourself.

To the young bulls—maximize your time.

Get in the gym.
Put the hours in.
Chase that 10,000-hour mindset.
Be obsessed with getting better.

And understand this:
Control what you can control.

Your work ethic.
Your attitude.
Your response to coaching.

Because at the end of the day…
Being “good enough” has an expiration date.

Greatness doesn’t.
