Yesterday, I attended and spoke as a panelist at WeCoach Regional Workshop. An organization and workshop aimed at empowering and inspiring women coaches.

During the closing ceremony, the panelists were invited to the stage, where @alexmorgan13 joined us on Facetime. She was there (virtually) to present us with a $10,000 grant - The Coaching Mom Initiative, from the Alex Morgan Foundation. The grant is to ensure coaching moms, like myself, have the childcare support they need.

This grant not only provides financial relief for my family, but it also supports the work that I do! While my career is fun and very rewarding. Working in athletics is not always easy. There are long days, and many long nights. It takes the right support system to withstand a successful and fulfilling career in athletics.

I always consider myself very blessed, and supported, however, it’ll take me some time to process through this one. Alex freaking Morgan presented me with money for my awesome kid! How cool is that?! I cant wait to share this moment with Demi in the future.

Ran the Media 5-miler yesterday at 15 weeks postpartum. Not my best time but this gives me a measurable pace to improve. The most important thing is that I finished 💪

Running as a mom is not easy. Taking time to train while nursing an infant is work let me tell you, but extremely grateful that my wife supports my silly running hobby and allows me the time to do so.

Slowly getting back into. This brought me 5 miles closer to feeling like myself again!

8 weeks postpartum. 11 months since from my last real run. Like Jordan said in 95, “I’m back”
I’ve missed running so much! I miss the community, my family @swaggahouse_run_club
The focus right now is just to get back into the swing of things!

On Sunday I ran my first half marathon (13.1 miles) I was able to run in honor of my mother-in-law by raising money for @legacyofhope_phl so naturally crossing that finish line was very rewarding and emotional. A lot of hard work and training went into preparing for one run!

Running is not just a physical sport but a mental challenge. Seeing your family and friends along the course is so encouraging. Special thanks to my community @swaggahouse_run_club for the love and support. To all those that donated money, motivated me, and cheered, THANK YOU! Especially my wife, who dealt with my crazy training schedule, and was there supporting me in the freezing cold.

2023 was my best year as a runner. To everyone that I’ve met, conversed with, motivated, or helped me during a run, THANK YOU! Running truly is a community. Glad to have my family @swaggahouse_run_club

Next year: new cities, new places, bigger goals! Oh, and not to wear black as much as I did this year 😅
Very excited to take a silly hobby I picked up during the pandemic to the next level!

Surprised I didn’t get a speeding ticket 😮‍💨😂

In all seriousness runners, run at your own pace. Don’t let a group, watch, app or anyone else tell you the correct pace to run. Listen to your body!
