I’m back in the blue & gold chasing NCAA rings.

I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ve accepted the Associate Head Coach position at Lander University. A top 5 NCAA program within only 5 years as a team.

If I’m being honest, this was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.

When I moved back to the DMV, I never imagined how much this community would come to mean to me. I came here to coach wrestling, but I leave with lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and people I’ll always consider family.

To every athlete who trusted me, every parent who believed in me, every coach who stood beside me, and everyone who supported me along the way THANK YOU. You allowed me to do what I love every single day, and I’ll never take that for granted. Every practice, every private lesson, every tournament, every conversation, and every challenge helped shape me into a better coach and a better man.

Coaching has never been just a profession to me. It’s my purpose. And while this next chapter takes me to South Carolina, a piece of my heart will always stay here.

To the Lander family..I’m ready to get to work. Let’s build a culture that lasts, chase championships, and leave the program better than we found it.

The mat has always taught me that growth demands discomfort. Sometimes the next step forward means leaving behind something you truly love.

Different place. Same purpose. Same Junkyard Dawg.

1 YEAR BACK HOME PT. 2

Few know my real story, the fight game is known to be a rocky road but @lloydirvin told me once “ugly roads lead to beautiful destinations” and he couldn’t have been more right about it.

Out of college I got a ONE Championship contract, but close to my pro debut COVID happened. I lost my contract due to wanting to stay true to myself.

But this ain’t no boo hoo story.

Didn’t know where to go or what to do after that. I had to reset my life multiple times after.

Eventually I move to Cleveland when @lloydirvin hit me up and offered me the opportunity to come back home and build something special & bigger than myself.

The mat is all I know in this world & even when I’ve tried to step away it has pulled me back in its grasps.

I took the offer, & after a few weeks back home after practice he asked me if I come to coach at the ADCC West Coast Trials, one of the most grueling tournaments in the world. I said since I’m gonna be there should I compete?

He said yes. Having had 2 hammer teammates at 88kg for our team already in I ask him “should I just say f*ck it and bump up to 99kg?” He asked was I sure I wanted to jump right back into competing so quickly at a tournament like this? I said I didn’t give a f*ck. I made it to day 2 & the round of 16 where I eventually lost.

It was so good to be back on the back after such a long hiatus. It’s where I belong. I felt so free out there again. I got a taste of what I had been missing in my life and was hooked again.

Last year I had some wins & I had some losses and that’s just what life is about. Weathering the storm & adapting.

I wanted to quit this sh*t thousands of times man until I realized nothing matters but having fun, letting go & being the best you possible.

In the last year, I got to coach at UFC 300, ADCC worlds, superfights, had multiple state champions & other state placewinners. And I ain’t slowing down for NO ONE.

A lot of yall focus on proving “haters” wrong & not trying to prove the ones who believe in you right.

Don’t take yourself too seriously sport a smile & have fun. Life is too short to live in spite.
