Yes, I actually was in that position about 7 years ago.

Was I a ball of nerves? Yes
Was I heartbroken? Also yes
Was it unimaginably hard? Absolutely

But if I set my feelings aside, and focused on how she treated our child and how she treated me… the answer was obvious.

I know it’s incredibly difficult to navigate this season, that’s why I’m here.

Divorce is hard. I’m not here to make false promises that I can make it easy peasy.

But I will promise, I’ll lighten the load. I’ll keep your kids first. I’ll listen, objectively, and give you honest feedback. I’ll warn you about things that may happen along the journey.

I’ve been there.

Yes, I also have the training. A masters in marriage and family therapy, a certification in divorce coaching and many years working with kids and families, but I’ve been there. I’ve watched my marriage die. I’ve driven away leaving my 3 year old behind. I’ve had to coparent with someone that broke my heart.

I remember the feeling of never being sure…
Never sure of what was coming home
Never sure of what I’d find

I’ll never live in a home of uncertainty, of egg shells.

It produces anxiety … it’s never predictable. One day something is a big problem, the next it’s perfectly acceptable.

Living in a home with eggs shells used to be the norm… now it’s unacceptable.
Home should be safe, comfortable, peaceful… and now it is.

Almost two years of pickleball and I still can’t explain the score. But I have fun, get exercise, and have made some pickleball mom friends. 😂

Then I went for a low ball, and my back decided we were done.

Naturally, I spent four days trying to handle it myself. Because apparently being a coach who encourages people to ask for help doesn’t make me immune to “I’ve got this.” 🙃

I finally called my chiropractor @dradamfriedman . A few visits—and the cupping marks you see here—later, I’m feeling much better. It’s taken time, a strategy, and some help.

And yes… there’s a divorce and heartbreak lesson in here.

You can put your heart into something, want it to work, and still end up hurting. Then you try to push through, figure it out alone, and tell yourself you should be doing better by now.

**You don’t have to wait until the pain is unbearable to deserve support.**

My chiropractor helps me with my back. As a divorce coach, I help you sort through the overwhelm, work through the emotions, and figure out your next steps.

Asking for help doesn’t take away your strength. It gives you somewhere to use it besides just surviving.

For me, I’d be frustrated too.

Why have a parenting plan agreement if both parties aren’t going to follow it?!

My suggestions…
✍️ Keep records of all time sharing
🗣️ Consider talking to your attorney about options
😒 Share the frustration with a coach
🔦 Focus on what’s in your control
