The “5-in-5” rule vote is coming soon! This could impact recruits currently looking, already verbally committed, etc. If athletes get 5 years of eligibility, in essence, an entire class could be displaced. Not necessarily in one year, but the equivalent. For example, if juniors in high school replace juniors in college, let’s say 7 juniors, but a college team keeps 3 juniors, now there is only space for 4 from that class in high school.

Yes, the rule could make different divisions more competitive and have a trickle down effect, but getting a roster spot, especially at a Power 4 school will take a lot more performance in high school.

Will recruits get cut before they sign in November, much like the class of 2025 experienced from colleges when the roster max was put into place by the NCAA? Time will tell.

Comment your thoughts or questions, like, and share this post to increase the dialogue!

2028 Recruits, it’s almost June 15, and you are a month away from your first phone calls with College Swim Coaches! If you would like advice on asking the right questions, listen up!

If you want to work together, I will help you communicate effectively and teach you how to ask powerful questions that actually get the information you want from coaches.

You might be nervous about you these calls - that’s ok! You’ll feel more confident if you prepare, and I would love to help you!! 🔗 in bio.
