Happy 14th Birthday to our baby girl, Kwin. Your birthday always shows up right as a new school year begins, and this one is big, your last year of middle school.

God has given you a heart that sees people. Loves them with great kindness. I hope you remember how good and special you are. Guard your heart. Be brave. Trust God.

Now if we could just get you to clean your room, you’d be unstoppable.

Lord, develop her into the kind of young woman whose gifts, character, and work ethic naturally attract the opportunities You’ve already prepared for her.

Twenty years. A fifth of a century. I’m 40, and I’ve spent over half my life with you. Six homes, three kids who carry all your best qualities and wrestle with my shortcomings, and a life that looks nothing like what I imagined at twenty. One day you meet that one person you’ll chase life with. For me, that was you. 20 years sounds long, but I know one day we’ll look back and say it wasn’t nearly long enough.

You and me? I’m thankful we bet on us. You’re the best surprise of my life. I think If I’m honest, I first fell in love with you because I needed you. And it’s funny how love evolves and matures. It grows from need into devotion, from holding on to each other into choosing each other, every day. And the longer we’re married, the less I remember what life was like before you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful gift of my son. Cover him daily with Your protection and guide his heart toward You. When life gets noisy, remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, known, and loved by You. Give him wisdom to choose paths that honor You and courage to stand firm against anything that pulls him away.

Surround him with loyal, God-fearing friends who speak truth into his life. Help him to know that he doesn’t have to be perfect to be worthy, He’s already loved beyond measure. May his life shine with kindness, strength, and grace.

Thank You for trusting me with the honor of being his father

Somewhere between the rolling Appalachian ridges, the hollers, and the slow bend of the Tygart Vallet River, Anna Jarvis decided the world needed Mother’s Day. And honestly, if she had seen what moms juggle in 2026, I’m convinced she undershot it. One day? Anna, come on. This should’ve been a long weekend with mandatory naps and federal protection from laundry.

And maybe that’s why the idea was born in Grafton, West Virginia. A place where early 1800s moms were out here raising kids in cabins, hauling water, surviving winter that didn’t care about feelings, and doing it all without white wine, Nike dunks, or a quick escape to Disney’s Polynesian Resort to ride the monorail, eat dole whip, just to keep their sanity intact.

Y’all know Mandy pours into her family, pours into the community she built at B Present Studio, and still somehow has the capacity to yell at refs like she’s leading a breakout session on accountability, haha. And she handles the chaos by tapping into some hidden reserve of energy the rest of us clearly weren’t issued.

And don’t get her started on Coach Pope’s ongoing refusal to hire a GM or assemble an offseason roster that excites BBN
