One week ago, I ran my first (and let’s be honest, ~very~ likely my last) marathon.
After a week of hobbling around and reflecting on my life choices, I realized something important: my entire PhD experience can be summed up by marathon training and the race itself.

Both require questionable judgment,
an alarming amount of suffering,
& an unshakeable belief that ✨Future You✨ will somehow survive.

I trained for six months, all while finishing what is hopefully my second-to-last semester as a doctoral candidate.
(Dr. Kinta… coming soon. I think...)

Training was the kind of “character building” no one actually asks for.

Some days I spent over three hours running, and that was before I even stepped foot in the lab (2:30am wakeup times are brutal BTW).
The closer I got to the race day, the less I wanted to do it.

Motivation? Gone.
Injuries? Yes.
A head cold that knocked me out for TEN DAYS? Naturally.
Burnout? Constant companion.

And even the final event had chaotic energy. At mile 18, out of nowhere, I got a nosebleed, because why NOT add a little drama?

I lost time, everything tightened up, and my knees, hips, and ankles collectively filed formal complaints. The last eight miles were powered purely by perseverance, stubbornness, and spite. (A fuel source that rivals gummy bears, by the way.)

But here’s the thing: I finished. Not because it was easy, or pretty, or perfect, but because I kept moving forward, even when it felt ridiculous.

Now to turn that spite toward this project because if you ask anyone on the project, we're all emotionally attached and I don't think any of us will let it go without a fight.

My metaphorical “nosebleed” has already happened, the finish line is actually in sight, and all that’s left is to put one foot (or one page) in front of the other.

If I can survive 26.2 miles, I can survive this dissertation.
If you're thinking "I can't do it" just remember, this might be your nosebleed. And while you might not be too the finish line yet, it's coming and it will be so rewarding when you get there. by @coachkinta

Just give me 90 days. 🤝

It's not just about lifting heavier or seeing abs in the mirror.

It’s about walking into the gym with confidence.
Knowing exactly what you’re doing. Feeling comfortable rather than anxious or scared.

Feeling powerful in your body—and in control of your progress.

The truth?
That version of you isn’t far away.

You might just need a plan, some accountability, and the right guidance.

I’ve helped athletes + everyday lifters make this shift.

And now it’s your turn, if you'll let me.

⬇️ Ready to start your 90-day transformation?

Drop a “STRONG” below or DM me—I’ll send you the details. taken in Scottsdale, Arizona by @coachkinta

I do hard things on purpose.
And apparently, a 70.3-mile IRONMAN is next. 🏊🏼‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Every year, I pick something that scares me just to prove to myself that I can do it.

Jump out of a plane? ✔️
Ride a live bull? ✔️
Run a full marathon? ✔️
Earn a PhD? ✔️
Swim 1.2 miles, bike 56, and run 13.1? …sure, why not. 🫠

My passion for sport led me to earn a PhD in Exercise & Nutritional Sciences, fueled by a desire to understand human performance and help others recognize the incredible impact of physical activity and nutrition.

Now, I'm taking that passion beyond the finish line as part of TEAM IMF, supporting the IRONMAN Foundation and its mission to make a positive, tangible difference in communities around the world. ❤️

Here's the thing:
I don't do hard things because I'm fearless. I do them because I'm not, and I refuse to let that be the reason I don't try.

You don't have to be the strongest, fastest, or most confident person in the room. You just have to be willing to start.

If my journey inspires even one person to chase the thing that scares them, take a chance on themselves, or discover what they're capable of, it'll be worth every mile.

Now accepting donations, words of encouragement, and unsolicited advice from people who have absolutely no idea what I've signed up for. 😂

❤️ Help me #RaceForMore! Link in bio.

"Your legs are like a man's"
•
Why, thank you sir. I grew these tree trunks myself over 15 years of HARD work and heavy lifting.
•
I actually had a man tell me this last night.
•
And before anyone gets mad, he genuinely meant it as a compliment. 😂
•
He followed it up with:
•
“I just meant that I know men that would kill for legs like that.”
•
Honestly? Fair.
•
Because these legs didn’t come from a 6-week booty program, a magic supplement, or simply “good genetics.”
•
They came from 15+ years of training, lifting heavy shit, eating enough to support it, and consistently showing up.
•
So yes, sir. I will be accepting the compliment. 💅🏼 by @coachkinta

Oh boy, time to ruffle some feathers. 💅🏼
•
Do I think the ad was tasteful?

Not in the slightest.
•
But at the same time, I will NOT stand in someone’s way of doing whatever the fuck they want with their body.
•
She’s a figurehead who understands what good marketing can do.
•
Had you heard of the company before the ad came out?

Me neither.
•
And while I don’t think the ad was in good taste, I’m not going to be the person telling someone, especially another woman what she can or cannot do with her body.
•
And the idea that this one ad can somehow single-handedly destroy women in sports has been blown WAY out of proportion, in my opinion.
•
Ironically, the conversation has been amplified largely because of the number of women, myself included, saying:
•
"Hey, that’s not a good way to represent women in sports.”
•
And that’s okay.
•
We can criticize the marketing without policing the woman.
•
We can dislike the message without deciding what another woman should be allowed to do with her body.
•
But hey, that’s just my opinion. 💅🏼
•
P.S. I didn't actually say her name, OR the company.
But every single one of you knows what I'm talking about.

If Red 40 is currently your biggest health concern, congratulations on having absolutely nothing else to worry about. 😂
•
Before we panic over the food dye in your Cheetos, maybe we should worry about moving enough, lifting a weight once in awhile, eating enough fiber, supporting bone health, and getting enough sleep.
•
This isn't me saying food quality doesn't matter.
It's about ✨priorities✨
•
Because if you're doing none of those things BUT you're spending all your energy avoiding Red 40…
We have bigger problems.
•
Personally, I'm much more concerned about getting my morning coffee than I am about food dye.

The programming is great!
Unfortunately, so am I at actually following it!
•
The next four weeks of my programming block have me doing ✨dual KB front squats.✨
•
Easily one of my favorite movements to program.

Also one of the movements that REALLY makes me question my will to live.
•
This movement doesn’t just target the lower body. It’s also a great addition for anyone looking to improve their Olympic-style movements (specifically the catch on their clean) or build better core stability.
•
Because of where the weight sits, nestled into the elbow, it forces you to maintain an upright torso while keeping your core stable and your ribs tucked down and tight.
•
Basically: great movement. Absolutely terrible experience.

Try these in your next training block and let me know if they make you question your will to live too. 😂 by @coachkinta

We're going to HAWAII
•
I'm so excited to announce that I will be working with the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness program (H2F) as a strength and conditioning coach.
•
While I am ecstatic to see where this chapter leads, leaving Arizona feels bittersweet as I am leaving a wonderful team @lifetime.paradisevalleyaz which I was honored with the opportunity to be a founding coach and instructor while we got this location up and running. Eternally grateful to @crosemvmt @britfield and @severson_shawn for believing in me and bringing me on. I'll come back to visit, I promise.
•
If you find yourself on O'ahu please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd be happy to create space for you.
•
For now, mahalo for being with me on this Hawaiian rollercoaster ride. by @coachkinta
