More than proud of the boys this past weekend at Spooky Nook for their success. Winning championships is cool and fun, but that’s not what this is about we develop! From the start of the spring season to the end of fall, I can honestly say every kid that played with @teamgrind304 in the spring or the fall has improved and is ready for their high school season.

We went 2-0 on Saturday against teams from New Jersey and Delaware. On Sunday, we faced a gritty Pro Skills squad from Philly; we didn’t play our best, but we pulled out a 2-point win and then handled business in the championship game against LA Elite. Proud to say we are the @premier1events Fall Summit 9th Grade Grey (A) Bracket Champions! #GrindGang #Development by @coachkyle__

THE LAST RIDE 🏀💚🖤

As many of you know, I coach a lot. I coach middle school, high school, and AAU basketball, and I really haven’t taken many breaks from coaching throughout the spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Coaching at E. Russell Hicks is really where my coaching career started. I began with an amazing group of players who are now juniors and sophomores. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin. Being able to coach at the same school I attended for two years in middle school has always meant a lot to me.

I wanted to make this announcement before the season starts: this will be my final year as a middle school head coach. I still plan on being around Hicks and helping out when the time is right, but after so many memories, championships, relationships, and great players who have come through this journey, I feel like this is the right time.

I’m grateful for every player I’ve coached, every family that has supported me, and everyone who has been a part of the journey.

One more season. One more group. One last run.

Let’s make it count. 🏆

TWO TEAMS. TWO DIVISIONS. TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS. 🏆🏆

Had the opportunity to coach both the 8th Grade and 9th Grade teams to Love Day Hoops Championships. Proud of how both groups competed, stayed together, and finished the job.

Different teams, same mindset. The grind and hard work continues. 💚❤️🖤

What a weekend! 🏆 @teamgrind304 9th grade boys are the @lovedayhoops DMV GRASSROOTS CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS! 🏀

After a tough 8-point loss on Saturday, the boys stayed focused. The goal was clear: reset, adjust, and get revenge in the championship. They matched the intensity, battled through adversity, and played with heart until the final buzzer of the championship game.

Shoutout to @evan_deeds13 with the game winner in the championship game

I couldn’t be prouder of this group. We are not done—let’s keep grinding! 😤🔥

After losing a tough one on Saturday and being short-handed on Sunday, the boys pushed through it. They put in 82 minutes of hard work and came through with the chip!!! 🏆

RING CHASERS CLASSIC 14U CHAMPIONS 🏆💍
Presented by Big Time Hoops

Heading into the championship game, I preached to the guys that we had not played our best basketball yet. They came into that championship game LOCKED IN! 🔒

We went down 11 early in the first half, but the boys stayed together, battled back, and found a way to bring home the championship and earn themselves some rings! 💍🏆

I’m proud of these guys! Outside of the MADE Hoops Circuit, where we lost in the semifinals, every tournament we’ve played in, we’ve made it to the championship game and have got better!

The grind doesn’t stop. This weekend, we’re right back at Spooky Nook for @premier1events Time to get back to work! 💪🏀

🚨The first Middle School Boys team has officially committed to the MMT Fall League! 🏀🔥
Please help us welcome E. Russell Hicks Middle School from Hagerstown, Maryland to the league!

Leading the squad will be the coaching duo of Justin Weaver and Kyle Harris, two basketball minds who are dedicated to developing young talent and competing at a high level.
We’re excited to have the huskies join the MMT Fall League and can’t wait to see them hit the floor this fall. Welcome to the family!

What a day! It was a last-minute decision to play, but it paid off in a big way. I am incredibly proud of these 6 players for pushing through the fatigue to bring home the championship! Every single game was a total team effort, but I have to give a special shout-out to @aidenm_2030 for dropping 21 points in the championship game! We went 3-0 and were crowned the 14U Hagerstown Field House Summer Slam II Champions! The grind doesn’t stop we’re on to Harrisonburg next week! 🥇🏀 #GrindGang by @coachkyle__
