It took me a while to get a grasp on this one. When I got the call, I was in disbelief. I had just spoken to you the day before about fatherhood and how much life has changed. You were starting to find yourself.

As kids we were inseparable, we did everything together. As we got older, life took over and we lost touch. Fast forward to now, your babies were in Supreme and I had no idea they were yours until I ran into you for the first time in years at a track practice at Hartford High about a month ago.

We talked for at least an hour or so, just catching up on life and how much things have changed. In that conversation I told you your babies can come work with me at anytime for nothing at all! They’ll always have a place with us.

The universe works in mysterious ways, it brought us back together one last time before your departure. I’ll be sure to play my small role in your babies lives as promised. R.I.P Kahari 🙏🏽🖤 by @coachmarkct

You left to soon bro, I needed you in so many ways. The constant reminders that I’ll be the best trainer in the nation one day, that I’m special and so many more little things that I needed to hear you provided. However, it was you who had the real gems internally. The ability to light up any room you were in, to argue your point with anyone wether or not you were wrong and the confidence to stand up for yourself no matter who it was. I wish I possessed those things man, you were so special.

We were just talking about running supreme together and taking it to new heights. You always gave me pointers on how to get the most out of our babies. I should’ve pushed you through that door, I feel like I could’ve done more. Despite you being gone, I’ll make it happen; your dream will live through me. I love you man, I got us 🙏🏽

This Saturday is a special one for me, my first girls flag football tournament and my official debut as a head coach!

I’ve always had the goal of one day coaching my own team… I just never imagined the opportunity would come this way. The universe works in mysterious ways, and sometimes the path you didn’t expect is exactly the one meant for you.

I’m grateful for the opportunity, excited for this new chapter and ready to lead these young ladies!

Before the big upset win over Rutgers, William “Pop” Watson took the time to send some encouraging words to our babies at Supreme Athlete.

That means something to us.

Before stepping on the field and handling business himself, Pop made sure to pour into the next generation, reminding our youth to stay focused, keep working and believe in where the journey can take them.

Then he went out and got the job done.

We appreciate you, Pop! Keep leading by example.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | DEXTER LAWSON JR.

FROM BLOOMFIELD TO THE PROS.

This one hits different because it shows our babies that you can come from right here in Connecticut and take this game farther than you ever imagined.

Dexter Lawson Jr.’s journey started in Bloomfield, CT, before continuing at St. Thomas More. From there, he earned the opportunity to play Division I football at Central Connecticut State University.

And he didn’t just get there…he produced.

At CCSU, Dexter became a HERO Sports First-Team Sophomore All-American, recording 6 interceptions in 2019. Over his career at Central, he finished with 74 tackles, 8 interceptions and 13 pass breakups. Then came another opportunity.

CCSU ➡️ APPALACHIAN STATE

Dexter made the jump to the FBS level and started 10 games at cornerback for App State in 2022, leading the team with 3 interceptions while adding 26 tackles, five pass breakups and a forced fumble.

But he STILL wasn’t finished.

Dexter went on to play professionally in the Canadian Football League, appearing in 23 regular-season games between Hamilton and Winnipeg and recording 76 defensive tackles and an interception.

That’s why stories like Dex’s matter.

Our babies see the finished product, but they need to understand how many years of work, sacrifice, adjustments and betting on yourself it takes to get there.

You don’t have to be from Florida.
You don’t have to be from Texas.
You don’t have to be from California.

You can be from BLOOMFIELD, CONNECTICUT and become a PROFESSIONAL.

FROM SUPREME TO THE SEC.

Georgia Bulldogs Ryan Puglisi and preseason All-American Ellis Robinson have a message for our babies:

Stay with Supreme. Handle your education. Trust the process.

They’re living proof of where commitment, discipline, and the right foundation can take you.

When guys competing at the highest level speak…LISTEN.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | ANTHONY SIMPSON

Another Connecticut kid whose journey shows just how far the game can take you!

Anthony Simpson made his name at Bloomfield High School, where he became one of the most explosive athletes in the state. He finished his career with 1,731 receiving yards and 27 receiving touchdowns, while also adding 1,473 rushing yards, 29 rushing touchdowns and 11 interceptions on defense. His play earned him the 2019 Hartford Courant Offensive Player of the Year award.

From Bloomfield, the journey took Anthony across the country.

Bloomfield ➡️ Arizona ➡️ UMass ➡️ Michigan ➡️ Toledo

At UMass, Anthony had a breakout 2023 season, finishing with 57 receptions for 792 yards and 3 touchdowns, earning First-Team All-Independent honors.

He later took his talents to Michigan before making another move for the next chapter of his journey.

Now Anthony is at Toledo, continuing his college football career as a senior wide receiver.

This is exactly why we started the “Where Are They Now?” series. Every journey looks different. Different schools, different opportunities, different obstacles but you continue to WORK and find your way.

Our babies need to understand that your journey doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s to be successful.

From Bloomfield, CT to competing at some of the highest levels of college football, Anthony is still writing his story.

🚨 ALUMNI THURSDAY! 🚨

One of the best parts about Supreme Athlete is watching our babies grow, move on to the next level, and then reach back to pour into the ones coming behind them!

Supreme Alum Kayden Bennett, who is currently at the University of Illinois, took some time to send a video to our current kids with some words of advice, encouragement, and wisdom from his journey.

This is what it’s all about. The older ones setting the example and showing the younger ones what’s possible!

Our School Year Series begins 9/7 and we’re ready to get back to work!

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | JACKSON HARPER

The journey continues for another one of our guys!

Jackson Harper made his name at Avon Old Farms, where he became a 4-year starter, earned First-Team All-Founders League honors, and was named Founders League Co-Offensive Player of the Year. His senior year he finished with 37 catches, 898 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

His work earned him an opportunity to stay home and play Division I football at UConn, where he spent three seasons continuing to develop and compete at the next level.

Now, Jackson’s journey takes him across the country. He has transferred to Colorado State University, where he’ll continue his Division I career as a wide receiver for the Rams. 🐏

Avon Old Farms ➡️ UConn ➡️ Colorado State

This is what the journey is about. It’s not always one straight path. Continue to work, continue to develop and continue to take advantage of every opportunity placed in front of you.

We’re proud to have played a role in Jackson’s journey and even more excited to see what comes next!
