Happy Birthday to the greatest to ever do it 🐍

To the legend that fueled my hunger and my desire to be the best in everything I do. To the countless hours spent studying my craft, and pushing my life beyond limits, I THANK YOU.

“To those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late and you work hard, those times when you don’t feel like working, you’re too tired, you don’t want to push yourself, but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. That’s the dream. It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.”

Honored and excited to begin our @ncfcyouthnpl journey into the new N1 league this year. I’m looking forward to leading our U-14 group into a season filled with high-level competition across the Carolinas.

With trials next week, I’m expecting everyone to bring energy, intensity, and their absolute best every single moment they step on the field.

Last week I posted the expectations for tryouts; please take them seriously. Those standards are extremely important and will play a major role in the decisions that are made.

Can’t wait to get started and see everybody compete. 💪🏼

See you all next week!

Such a powerful year for this 2012 NCFC NPL South squad! 👏🏼⚽️

I took over this team in the 3rd week into the start of season with only two practices before our first league game. The following two weeks we did get lucky with the bye weekend, and a few crazy winter storm cancellations to allow us more time to prepare.

With that time we grew, developed, and finished our league in third place which was great from last season where they finished fifth.

We also made some statements with the way we performed, the style we played, and the things we achieved. This team went from losing to the first place team 0-8 last season to then challenging them in two hard fought matches with a 0-1 loss and a 1-1 tie at a major tournament.

I wish I had more time to continue and develop with this team but many changes will be made due to the age fluctuations happening nationally.

I am one proud coach of everything these girls achieved, I am beyond pleased with the bonds that were created on and off the field, and excited for their continued paths and journeys!

What a season and I was blessed to Coach many of you all over again 🙏🏼🔥⚽

I’ve had a lot of players and parents ask the same question lately…

“What do coaches look for at tryouts?”

So I put this together to give you clarity from my thoughts.

This is not just for players, but for parents as well.

This is meant to give parents insight into what their athlete should be showing, and give players clear, targeted goals they can focus on, whether at tryouts or in training.

Because the reality is, it’s not just about goals or highlight plays. Those moments help, but they’re not what consistently gets players selected.

At tryouts, I’m focused on three things:

🧠 Do you understand the game? (movement, spacing, decisions)
⚽️ Can you execute? (first touch, passing, control under pressure)
🔥 What does your attitude look like? (effort, body language, response to mistakes)

When players intentionally work on these areas, not only do they increase their chances of being selected, they improve significantly over time.

Walk into tryouts with purpose! Train with purpose!
